"I booked Kellys Heroes to play at my 60th birthday party. You were amazing and everyone loved you. Everybody there was talking about how good you were, and they are still talking about it, even now. You were the main feature of the party which people remember! Of course, your excellent local reputation preceded you and that took some living up to - you did so admirably. I was worried that, with such a diverse group of guests, there would be awkward silences but Tony did a sterling job at getting people up on the dance floor and, once they started, they couldn’t stop. Quite a few of my friends commented that they forgot we were all hitting 60 and were dancing like young ‘uns. It says much for your music, though, that the real young ‘uns also joined in and it was a treat to see that younger Irish generation (because about 2/3 of the party were Irish) showing off their traditional dance skills to your music. Your song and tune selection was really excellent. Just the right balance, and lovely to have some songs which were favourites (Billy was completely made up with Carrickfergus) and others which were original compositions. Of course, the standard was – well – absolutely professional. It must be great to have such universal appeal. I can honestly say that your music hit the mark with both young and old; English and Irish – and even the small Greek contingent got up and learned a few dance moves! Your CD is being well-played on Corfu and in Athens now! I noticed a good few of the staff from the bar downstairs snuck in for a sneaky look too. You really made the evening for me and do, please, feel free to use this if you need a testimonial. Looking forward to seeing you soon at one of your gigs. With my very best wishes and thanks again. "We had a great night at our retirement do. The band were brilliant and got everyone involved. I have had so many positive comments from people who attended including - it was the best night out I have ever had!! We were a pretty lively lot but Kip was very patient in explaining the dance when we just didn't get it. I would highly recommend The Blue Jewel Ceilidh Band to anyone who is planning a fun filled evening. Thank you very much indeed. "A big thank you to you and your fellow musicians in the It's No' Reel Scottish Ceilidh Band for making our retirement ceilidh a really memorable night. We were so pleased that we chose you, thanks really to your excellent website. You were thoroughly professional in your approach and from our first e-mail communications we got a sense of reassurance - even although we had never heard you play live. We were also pleased that we chose to have a second fiddle - that gave such a wonderful sound. A friend & I were putting finishing touches to things in the foyer while you were tuning up. You then started to play, we looked at each other, both gave a spontaneous 'thumbs up' and big smiles - we knew then that it was going to be a great night! We know from our friends and family that they all did have a great night and you were the most talked about part of the whole evening. I just wish we could do it all again so we could get more time to sit and listen to your music - it all went by in a bit of a blur for Greg & I. Apart from comments on your professionalism, the quality of your playing and the fact that you got the sound level just right - many people told us how much they enjoyed listening to what you played between the dance tunes. We did not need the disco playlist after all! I just hope that we are able to hear you play live again! Thanks once more to you all, you made our special night even more special. We would recommend you to anyone looking for a band for a special event - we could not have asked for more. Thank goodness you were free on the 27th!!"

"We had seen the Band before at a School fund raising Barn Dance in Newton Ferrers. They were superb then and they were again at our Twinning Barn Dance. There are plenty of good Bands around for Barn Dances but this Band brings a few extras. Not only are they first class instrumentalists but they have great callers. They even speak French! We have no hesitation in rating them 10/10. "

"The band played at my restaurant for a friends 40th birthday last weekend. None of us had seen them before and we were all blown away by how good they were ! Lilac who sang lead has a beautiful voice and the whole party were on their feet the entire evening … i would definitely use them again and im recommending them to my customers who book events at our place and want a fantastic band !! "Amazing night with joyous music from the band from start to finish. Very accommodating for our age span of 8 years to 80 years! Plenty of caller participation to get us all going in fun dances which everyone said made them ache the next day! I heartily recommend them. Very friendly too! "

" Before the event - easy and clear communication. On the day: Punctual, relaxed, set up: professional and without any fuss. The music was great. Kip did the calling and was fantastic, clear, extremely patient, great humour but also not overbearing. Great variety of music and dances - so many smiling faces of all ages. There was nothing that could have been improved. Would highly recommend - and already have!"

"The Shooglers played at our wedding in May and they were great! They were brilliant at calling the ceilidh dances and Davie (the caller) certainly has the gift of the gab! He encouraged everyone to get up and dance and had people laughing in the process with lines like, 'the next dance is a prize dance... Prise yourselves off your seats and get up to dance! All our guests commented on how good the band was and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them - a great find!"
