Indie is one of those genres that means different things to different people. The term originally meant "independent" of the big record companies and was generally applied bands who wanted to go it alone, with their own sound. Nowadays, it seems to to cover everything from later punk acts like The Clash to the more pop inspired Kaiser Chiefs (with The Fratellis and The Stereophonics mixed in, for good measure). The term overlaps with pop/rock bands and is generally a three or four piece male-fronted, guitar based sound.
Hint: For this kind of band it's a good idea to make sure that you check the sound limitations at your venue. If a venue has a sound limiter then some of our bands won't be suitable for you.
