"Tim and I wanted to thank you and the band for being so amazing at our wedding. I think every guest has complimented you guys and said how fantastic you were. You managed to make what was an already awesome day more spectacular, I think you captured everyone's energy and really gave us the perfect party for our wedding. The first dance was fantastic and we were blown away by all your talents. I think the band were a bit worried they wouldn't be allowed home for the chants of 4 more songs :) Also thanks for your all your help and prompt responses and information you gave us beforehand. Really makes wedmin easier when working full time too!"

Ideal for:
Disco funk bands will be perfect for all sorts of public and private events. Very popular at weddings and hotel theme nights, disco bands will be perfect for audiences of a certain age, or with a big appreciation for disco music. If you're holding your own event, going all out with your theme is the key. Encourage your guests to dress up and decorate the venue!
When booking Disco / Funk Bands:
All disco bands will have a slightly different take on the repertoire and the dress, so make sure you study any potential acts promotional material carefully.
If you're getting married, then your wedding venue will probably require your band to have both PLI (Public Liability Insurance) and their gear PAT tested for electrical safety. Make sure when you initially contact your prospective act, that they have these in order.
Prices for Disco / Funk Bands:
Disco funk bands typically have at least 5 members, and so will usually charge a minimum of £950. If you're looking to cut down on travel costs, then use the "advanced search" feature to find disco funk bands near to you.
About disco music:
Starting towards the end of the 1960s, disco really hit it's stride in the underground clubs of New York and Philadelphia at the start of seventies. Disco combined many elements, including the instrumentation of funk and soul music, electronic music and strings. The nightclub experience, popularised in films like Saturday Night Fever starring John Travolta, was central to the creation of disco music.
Early adopters of the style included Chic, Donna Summer, KC and The Sunshine Band and, of course, The Bee Gees. Hits like "Everybody Dance" and "Stayin' Alive" were spun by DJs in night clubs like Studio 54, eventually making their way onto the airways.
In the late 70's and early 80's, disco faced a massive backlash from american rock DJs, culminating in a disco record demolition night in Chicago. After that, disco music went into a big decline for many years. Recently, disco has made something of a comeback, with huge acts like Daft Punk re-interpreting the genre on hits like "Get Lucky", featuring Nile Rodgers of Chic.
