Yes, we’re completely self contained. We bring our own PA system to all of our gigs as well as a simple lighting rig.
We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment. We’d also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue.
Yes, we’re happy to play music from your phone or laptop before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music. There is an extra fee for a disco after our performance
We performed at Trafalgar Square and got 4000 people to do the Siege Of Ennis dance. It was a fantastic gig!
We are most influenced by bands such as Dervish, Flook, The Chieftains, Bothy Band, Altan, Four Men & a Dog, Battlefield Band, Blazin Fiddles
We are blessed to have run hundreds of ceilidhs, toured much of Europe, and as individual members we’ve released over 15 studio albums and guested on over 60 albums collectively.
For us weddings are often the best, but we love all sorts of parties as long as the guests are ready for a dance!
We normally arrive 2 hours before the performance to set up. We normally perform 2 x 50 minutes in 2 hours. We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best.
We’re happy to play outside but we ask for cover, a flat level surface and a power supply (if not acoustic) close to the performance area. We cannot perform in wet, cold, hot conditions. It’s worth remembering that we cannot perform wearing heavy clothing, and our instruments won’t work properly if wet or extremely cold/hot.
We are experts at running ceilidhs. We’d always welcome requests if they’re inside our field of expertise, but we also welcome ideas further from the normal. It’s always worth discussing an idea with us. We’ll be honest and let you know if it’ll work.
Previous customers would describe us as a high energy group that loves to get the audience on their feet dancing. Often people say that were the real deal when it comes to trad music and ceilidhs
The smallest number is 3. We pride ourselves in that we have an amazing setup of musicians who can play extra effect pedals/instruments to enhance the variety of sounds. That, together with a brilliant PA system, can sound amazing even in a huge venue. It does mean we can accommodate most budgets!
