About / Biography

Roaming Wild is a Mumford & Sons inspired roaming band. The band is primarily booked for their acoustic sets and their ability to stroll through mingling or seated guests and perform for them at their tables or huddles, much like a mariachi band would do. The band can double up and do an electric set in the evening as well for more of a party atmosphere. The band has one of the biggest repertoires of any roaming act in the UK, and all of the band members sing which means you can expect beautiful breathtaking harmonies throughout their performance. Couple that with their incredibly friendly and kind personalities and you’ve got a recipe for success.

We're a very friendly and flexible bunch and we take great pride in providing excellent musicianship and creating a really fun atmosphere wherever we go. We are proud to be part of a high-caliber collective of musicians that are some of the most in-demand talents in the UK music industry. So you can book with total peace of mind and know that we will deliver a top-notch performance every time.

Lineups:

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

To ensure a top-notch performance, we require a few essentials:

Power: We need access to at least two 13-amp power outlets to run our equipment.

Space: A dedicated changing room would be greatly appreciated, allowing us to prepare comfortably for the performance. For 3-piece or 4-piece: 4x3m

Refreshments: A hot meal for the band would be fantastic, especially for longer events.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Absolutely! We believe in delivering a complete and self-sufficient performance. As a standard we are a roaming act, fully acoustic with no equipment needed.

But as an optional extra we can bring our own high-quality PA system and lighting rig to every gig, so you don't have to worry about sourcing any extra equipment.

What information do you require about a venue?

To ensure a smooth arrival and setup, we kindly request the following information about the venue:

Clear directions: Please provide detailed directions to the venue location, including any specific instructions for finding the load-in area.

Sound limiter information: Please inform us if the venue has a sound limiter in place, as this will help us adjust our sound levels accordingly.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Definitely! if you have included PA in your package, we're happy to keep the music flowing throughout your event. We can use Spotify to play a selection of tunes before, after, and between our sets. Just let us know if you have any preferences or if you'd like us to handle the music selection.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

We've been lucky enough to perform in some truly stunning locations, from grand castles to cozy back gardens. Each gig has its own unique charm.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Our repertoire really showcases the diverse artists who've shaped our sound. You can hear the Mumford & Sons influence in our acoustic sets, with songs like "Little Lion Man" and "I Will Wait" capturing their folksy energy. We also love exploring the pop sounds of artists like ABBA, with classics like "Mamma Mia" and "Dancing Queen" always getting the crowd moving. And of course, we can't forget the rock anthems of bands like Queen, whose iconic "Bohemian Rhapsody" is a staple in our setlist.

While we draw inspiration from many artists, Fleetwood Mac holds a special place in our hearts. Their ability to blend pop sensibilities with intricate harmonies and meaningful lyrics is something we truly admire. Songs like "Go Your Own Way" and "The Chain" showcase their incredible musicianship and songwriting prowess.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

We all started playing instruments and singing at a young age, encouraged by our families. We honed our skills through private lessons and further education at institutions like the Academy of Contemporary Music and Kingston University.

We've each had our own unique journeys in the music industry, from touring internationally to working on theatre productions and even landing our music in films! Such as gracing the stages of BBC Introducing and supported Hawklords (formerly Hawkwind), Scouting for Girls, and The Wurzels. But our shared passion for creating music and connecting with audiences brought us together as Roaming Wild. We started gigging together, initially focusing on acoustic roaming sets, and quickly discovered a love for bringing music directly to people in intimate settings.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

We love the variety that comes with being a roaming band. Weddings are always a joy, with their celebratory atmosphere and the opportunity to create special moments for the happy couple and their guests. But we also relish the challenge of adapting our performance to different settings, whether it's a corporate event, a private party, or a festival. Ultimately, our favorite events are the ones where we can create a warm and inviting atmosphere, bringing people together through the power of music.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We typically arrive two hours before our scheduled performance time to ensure a smooth setup and soundcheck. We're flexible with our arrival time and can adjust as needed. Our standard performance times are 1am for events within Greater London and midnight for events outside. We're happy to extend our performance for an additional fee.

Are you happy to perform outside?

We love the ambiance of outdoor performances! We're happy to play outside, provided the weather cooperates or there's a suitable backup plan in place. A covered stage or an indoor alternative ensures the safety of our equipment and allows us to deliver a fantastic performance, rain or shine.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We believe in crafting a personalized experience for every event. While we have an extensive repertoire of over 300 songs, we encourage you to make suggestions from our list to guarantee we play the music you and your guests will love. We also offer a special "off the menu" option, where we'll learn a song especially for your event – perhaps your first dance or a personal favorite. It's the perfect way to add a unique and memorable touch to your special occasion.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Our clients often rave about the unique and immersive experience we create. They appreciate our ability to adapt to different settings and engage with the audience on a personal level. From our roaming acoustic sets to our high-energy electric performances, we strive to create a memorable experience for every guest. We've received numerous compliments on Richard's powerful vocals, our tight harmonies, and our ability to read the crowd and keep the energy high throughout the night. We pride ourselves on our professionalism, flexibility, and commitment to delivering exceptional performances that exceed expectations.
