About / Biography

A bit about us: Amplified is the perfect wedding and party band for those with a passion for rock who are looking for a band with personality! We come as a 3 or 4-piece for versatility, with our full lineup featuring lead vocals with electric guitar, bass with backing vocals, lead guitar with backing vocals, and drums with backing vocals. We're a very friendly and flexible bunch and we take great pride in providing excellent musicianship and creating a really fun atmosphere wherever we go.

We've been bringing rock, pop, and soul favourites to weddings and events across the country and internationally since 2016. We're proud to be part of a high-calibre collective of musicians that are some of the most in-demand talent in the UK music industry. This means that should a band member be called away on tour or to record with major artists (we've played with the likes of Emeli Sandé, Bastille, and Tinie Tempah!), there will always be another member from the collective ready to step in and deliver a seamless performance for you and your guests. So you can book with total peace of mind and know that we will deliver a top-notch performance every time.

Our frontman, Ben, is a full-time musician with a master's in Music and Sonic Media. He's an accomplished session guitarist, bassist, and vocalist, and his relaxed and can-do attitude will put you and your guests at ease. All our members are full-time working musicians with exceptional skill and talent, and we've all been immersed in music and performance from a young age.

We have a big long list of songs spanning different genres and decades for you to pick from, specialising in lots of different styles of rock, but also well-versed in pop, retro pop, and soul. We can play complimentary playlist music (which you are welcome to tailor) before, in-between and after live sets. We also operate reduced rates Sunday to Friday (excluding December).

If you've any questions about the band and what we offer please don't hesitate, we'll be more than happy to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

t's tough to pick just one "best gig" because every event has its own unique energy! But one that really stands out was a wedding in Scotland where the crowd was absolutely electric. They were singing along to every song, dancing their hearts out, and just having an amazing time. The energy was infectious, and it made our performance even more enjoyable.

As for the best venue, we were flown out to France to play at a beautiful chateau nestled in the countryside. The setting was breathtaking, and the acoustics in the hall were incredible. It was truly a magical experience.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

We draw inspiration from a wide range of artists, from classic rockers like Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones to modern indie bands like The Killers and Arctic Monkeys. It's hard to pick just one favorite artist, but collectively we have a huge appreciation for the songwriting and musicianship of The Beatles. Their music has had a profound impact on us and continues to inspire us today.

Choosing the "greatest song of all time" is an impossible task! There are so many incredible songs out there. But if we had to pick one, it might be "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen. It's a masterpiece of songwriting and performance, and it perfectly captures the essence of rock music.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

Our frontman, Ben, started playing guitar at six years old and hasn't stopped since! We all honed our skills through years of practice, playing in various bands and projects throughout our school years. We eventually met through the vibrant music scene in London and formed Amplified in 2016. We started gigging by playing at local pubs and clubs, gradually building our reputation and expanding our reach to weddings, parties, and events across the country and internationally.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

We love playing at all kinds of events, but weddings hold a special place in our hearts. There's something truly magical about being part of someone's big day and contributing to the joyous atmosphere.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We like to arrive 2 hours before we need to be set up. We don't mind arriving early within reason. We also don't want to disturb your guests so we try to be as flexible as possible. We can get set up and sound checked within 1 hour if necessary. For gigs within Greater London, it's a 1am finish and for gigs outside of Greater London, it's a midnight finish. We can stay on site later than 1am and midnight respectively at an additional fee.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes as long as the weather is suitable or if there is a back up option or cover for the band and the equipment.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

The clients can make suggestions for songs from our repertoire, and we always offer a one 'off the menu' request that the band can learn, either as a first dance or to go in the band set.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Previous clients consistently praise our performances for being high-energy, professional, and crowd-pleasing. They frequently highlight our ability to create a fantastic atmosphere, keep the dance floor full, and cater to a wide range of musical tastes. Our friendly and accommodating nature is also a recurring theme in their feedback, with many emphasizing our professionalism and helpfulness throughout the entire process.
