"Just to say a huge thank you to yourself and the rest of your band members who attended our wedding celebratory party on sat 2nd September at our home in the Brecon Beacons. A lot of our guests (some of whom are professional/semi-professional players themselves in other ceilidh bands in England and Scotland!) commented on the high standard of your musical performance as well as your ability to inspire them to put their feet on the dance floor without too many mishaps. "Black Velvet Band helped make the Souldern Village Ceilidh a great success. Ours was a Village event with all ages and the Band got all ages dancing. They played superbly and brought a caller with a good sense of fun. They provided music to dance to, music to listen to and an entertainment show all in one! On a practical level they were professionally early arriving, leaving the event organiser relaxed and free to have a drink! Greatly appreciated in all regards. Ian Grey"

"I just have to thank Black Velvet Band for the great job they did at my 70th birthday ceilidh in Bristol on 24th June. I had such a great time, and that was partly down to the three of them working hard, and giving us great music to dance to. I danced every dance and enjoyed it so much. When the caller was explaining how to reel I thought, "Uh oh, this'll be fun!" and it certainly was ... I haven't laughed so much in ages. So, well done everyone involved, and if we ever have another I'll be sure to contact you again."

"We had a great night. They certainly made us exercise and it was sooooo hot! Everyone really enjoyed themselves - there was lots of laughter. Unfortunately, it is apparent that we are quite uncoordinated!"

"Wow, what a singer! Lucy was an absolute star, travelling up from London with her guitarist to my party in the Midlands to help me out at short notice, as I was struggling to find an act I liked and was available for my birthday party. What I didn't realise was, not only is she absolutely lovely but she has an amazing voice, great range, a huge variety of songs and she even did me an Elvis number by special request. Her guitarist was a quality act too. I know there are lots of 10/10 ratings on here, but seriously I don't think you could give Lucy any less, if you hire her, she will make your event a special one."

"The Haystacks Band performed at our wedding party at The Pinkneys Arms in Pinkneys Green, and exceeded all expectations. Helpful, communicative, professional, talented, and above all fun! They have a great set list with a fantastic mix of classic and modern songs, but were also willing to adapt to our wishes - with a high proportion of cat lovers in the audience, their version of Smelly Cat (by Phoebe from Friends) went down especially well. They got everyone dancing, including me... and it's notoriously difficult to get me to dance! Brilliant feedback from all our friends too. Thanks so much Rachel & Haystacks Band for helping to make our party so enjoyable."
