5-piece Band plus caller | £545 |
Rejigged Ceilidh Band is a lively 5-piece band plus a caller which plays for Scots Ceilidhs (e.g. Burns Supper Dances) or Barn dances. The line-up does not change but the band's uniform and the style of music adapts to fit the occasion. This band is one of Kent's top Ceilidh Bands with collectively many 10's of years of experience for each musician. The band has appeared both at home and abroad with its members calling and playing at folk festivals up and down the country. Our caller is Chris Ransom, an experienced folk festival caller and writer of dances and music. He has recently published a dance booklet of 10 dances which he has written for Barn Dances and named it 'A Dickens of a dance'. In spite of being a lecturer in Folk music and dance for U3A Chris has a fun attitude to his calling and does not expect his clients to 'get it right', this he says adds to the fun of the evening. Chris calls with a bright sense of humour and is willing to call to all ages.

One 13 A socket for power is all that we require.
We provide full PA suitable for any size of hall, marquee or for an outside performance.
Will there be a single 13 A power socket available for our exclusive use? Will there be a stage? It does not matter if there is not.
Our Caller will provide MC and DJ services if required. We are happy to play client's music through our PA if required or we can play music ourselves during any interval.
Broadstairs Folk Week Festival where we performed at the Sarah Thorn Theater as a part of Folk Week.
Too many artists to consider, we are influenced by those artists who are popular at the time.
Every musician has come into the band from other bands, hence the name 'Rejigged'. Each musician has at least 10 + years playing folk music across all of the genres.
A simple village barn dance, or perhaps a family celebration such as a birthday or an anniversary.
Typical line-up would be : accordion; fiddle; flute; piano; bass; plus our caller.
We are happy to play outside and we do indeed play outside for the Sandwich Festival, when we play to dancing in the street. Sometimes we play for private parties in client's gardens, but this only works in the summertime.
None of our repertoire is set. Our caller will telephone the client one week beforehand to ask what style of music the client would like, and in particular are there any dances they would like to do.
Our clients simply fine us fun to dance to everyone has a smile on their face throughout the evening, it is clear to see from the stage.
We dress according to the client's performance criteria. For a Burns Night we wear tartan. For hoe downs (Barn dances) we would wear cowboy outfits if asked to do so. For weddings and parties we wear black trousers/skirts, white shirts and colourful waistcoats.
