"Following many hours of researching for a ceilidh band for our wedding (August 2021), we decided on Blue Jewel. After an evening of brilliant music, lively calling and enthusiastic dancing, we now simply cannot recommend them enough. They are an incredibly friendly group who worked in partnership with us on the day to help create an evening that we will never forget. With a series of different dances (led by clear and directive calling), all creating a sea of smiles and energy, they are an incredibly talented group. And even despite a slight delay in the timings (from our side), they were both patient and understanding. "

It was such fun and so enjoyed by all our guests who spoke very highly about how the event was organised. It was so lovely to get such a variety of dances and what a laugh we had with the scarf dance. We couldn't keep our little bridesmaid of the floor! "What can we say?! You guys were fantastic, we had so much fun as did our guests who have not stopped with the compliments since. It was our first ceilidh dance like many of our guests but it mattered not at all, Kip was brilliant at calling the moves and getting everyone up on their feet having a go and managing to get us holding it together which is no mean feat when it comes to rhythmically challenged mates!! And for those of my guests who have been to many a ceilidh dance, they too couldn't praise the band highly enough and all said it was the best they have been to. One very happy bride :-) I'd recommend Blue Jewel to anybody wanting to inject some fun into any party - the perfect ice breaking, crowd pleasing entertainment, everyone can join in and have a blast, no rhythm required!! "

"We booked Still Reeling for a 50th party last weekend and they were fab!! They kicked the party off in style, getting guests of all ages up dancing and having super fun (not to mention good exercise!). The band were professional, friendly and great musicians. "Hi Gordon, We can't begin to thank you and the band enough for making Friday such a special evening. Helen was really looking forward to dancing with all her friends and the music you played certainly made people want to get up and join in, even oldies like me. Thank you also for managing the ceilidh dancing so well in a very restricted amount of space. We had expected just a few people to take part but were overwhelmed by the numbers and the enthusiasm. Helen had forewarned a number of her friends about the dances we were having so a few had taken advantage of the YouTube tutorials available but the success was all down to yourself. We both realised that you played for much longer than initially envisaged so thank you very much for that. Best wishes!"

"The band set up according to the plan that had been agreed and once the music got underway, the dance floor was packed for the whole night. Some of our guests had never been to this type of evening before and all we had back was extremely positive comments about the band and of the whole evening, which was to celebrate our daughter’s 30th Birthday. The band was an integral part of the night and made the night go with a swing. Well worth the 5***** GEOFF WARNER"

"For 13 years I have coordinated highly successful ceilidh dances in Bishopbriggs High School and now the new Bishopbriggs Academy. These Christmas dances are the culmination of 3 weeks of social dance with all year groups and it it a priority of mine that we have live music to create an upbeat atmosphere. I consider it part of my job to ensure these traditional dances are taught in school in a way pupils will enjoy and will perpetuate. This year I secured the services of The Shooglers for our S5/6 dance. The evening was a fantastic success and enjoyed immensely by pupils and staff alike. The band worked a perfect blend of traditional Scottish dance tunes with contemporary music the pupils are familiar with, which heightened their participation in – and positive attitude to – “social dancing”. I have already asked the band to perform at next year’s S5/6 dance in the school. I know it will be a special occasion. I recommend The Shooglers unreservedly to anyone hosting school dances, weddings or any kind of function. "
