"I just wanted to say a very big thank you to you all for a most memorable ceilidh at Ross and Susie’s wedding on 6th October. We have had many compliments on your ceilidh band and the dancing, and with many coming from a bunch of southerners, that is praise indeed! The calling and walk-throughs were just right and enabled anyone who wanted to, to join in. I was so pleased to see the dance floor full all night and everyone having such fun. Your playlist was very well thought out with a good array of well known dances and one or two lesser known but all good fun and not so complicated, all with tunes of a good pace. My sister came off after dancing the Cumberland Square (?) saying “That was great, I’ve always wanted to learn that one!” My knees have not recovered yet from all the dancing- but I wouldn’t have it any other way! I am sure Ross and Susie will thank you themselves in due course. In the meantime I shall thank you once again. I would not hesitate to recommend you to friends and family for a great ceilidh night."

"Black Velvet Band provided a five piece ceilidh band and caller for the finale of the Hawkins’ team building event. We thought the room would be too big – but we were wrong! The band brought an absolute gem of a caller, who read the crowd perfectly and the dance floor was full throughout the evening. We could have done with a larger space! The band was superb and the event was enjoyed by all concerned. I thoroughly recommend the band."

"Black Velvet Ceilidh Trio performed at a surprise party for my wife’s 60th Birthday recently. It was intended to be a function at which people could be fully involved and Boy! Did they do just that! I honestly cannot remember such a function where all of the guests were agreed it was an evening to remember that was also such fun. The whole success of the celebration came from the bands active participation and willingness to do everything possible to make the evening into a night to remember. That, they surely did. Thank you Black Velvet Ceilidh Band. You and the band made my wife very, very happy. She will not forget and neither will I. You are indeed very special musicians and very special people. "I have seen Danny play numerous times, solo or with his band, and he has always had a terrific response from his audience. He has played twice at shows I have promoted and is professional, charming and engages with his audience wonderfully. His original material is immediately accessible and he puts his own unique stamp on covers without alienating fans of the original, whether it be Springsteen, Petty, Dylan (or even Geldof!). I know nothing about playing guitar but two members of the audience who have played for years sought me out to compliment the remarkably able playing of this young man.
