"Black Velvet Band provided a five piece ceilidh band and caller for the finale of the Hawkins’ team building event. We thought the room would be too big – but we were wrong! The band brought an absolute gem of a caller, who read the crowd perfectly and the dance floor was full throughout the evening. We could have done with a larger space! The band was superb and the event was enjoyed by all concerned. I thoroughly recommend the band."

"We booked Rachel to perform a solo act at our wedding ceremony to include playing me down the aisle. She was absolutely incredible; beautiful voice, really talented guitarist and we were thrilled. She played me down the aisle to an Ellie Goulding track which was performed better than Ellie herself (in my humble opinion). I can't thank you enough Rachel. "

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio provided a brilliant ceilidh for our wedding celebrations at Goldney Hall, Bristol on 12 August 2017. What a fantastic evening! The band entertained our hardy Scottish guests with well-known Scottish dances but it was most enjoyable to see English friends and family ceilidh dancing for the first time and loving it! The dances were called very clearly and were quite ambitious so there was much hilarity. It was infectious fun and everyone got involved. (The dance floor was almost too small!) Mike and the band were extremely accommodating, professional and enthusiastic. The band has a huge repertoire and organised the evening flawlessly, from our first dance (Gay Gordons) to the throwing of the bouquet and the final Circassian Circle. Highly recommended. Thanks again for a fantastic evening of fun!"

"Had these guys along for my recent wedding as we wanted something that would be inclusive for all people attending to get involved in. The band were all that I could hope for. "Well! Where do I start? Whisky & Ginger were just incredible. I cannot thank them enough. Every single song was exactly what the crowd wanted, and they even played some of our requests (sorry there were quite a few!). People are still talking about how good they were a week after our party. We would recommend anybody who is in two minds about booking to do so. Worth every penny. We’ll defo be booking again! "Dear Lilac, I just wanted to send a thank you to you and the band for the 2 August performance. Everyone really enjoyed the music and commented on how the country band was excellent. I appreciate your learning the songs I sent over- I think you did a brilliant job. You also did a great mix of music that went really well together, we really enjoyed dancing to it. My husband said he thought you and your band made the weekend, you were his favorite and that is saying a lot considering we had 4 performances that weekend.
