People of all ages were able to take part and were delighted with the live music. There was great communication with Mick before, during and after the event itself. "We were really pleased that we had booked the Black Velvet band for a ceilidh at our daughter’s wedding at Old Down Manor. Before the event they spoke to our daughter and planned with her exactly what she would like from them, the type of music and how they would organise the evening so that she and her new husband could be ‘danced out’ at the end. On the day the band arrived in good time with all the appropriate equipment for the location. The performance was very professional, the music great and they got all the guests dancing along. The caller’s instructions were clear. So overall we were very happy and would definitely recommend them."

"Hired The Shooglers for our wedding, a mixture of an idea and blind faith, as the big day approached our anxiety increased we needn't have worried, they were excellent the dance floor was filled all night everyone had a ball,(and the free dance lessons were excellent too guys), this morning we've had texts and phone calls from loads of people all commenting on what a great night it was; brilliant. "

"These guys were just great and made a special birthday really special. Just loved Mike’s amazing fiddle playing. They accommodated all our requests for Irish and Scottish music and were flexible around times which was great as lunch was later than anticipated. Would highly recommend."

"I just wanted to get in touch regarding the above booking for our wedding to thank you and your team very much indeed for such a fantastic job providing the ceilidh music. The music itself was absolutely first rate and a number of guests have specifically complemented us on this. You made a very valued contribution to such a special day for us and the atmosphere in the room when the dancing was in full swing was just brilliant. A particularly memorable moment of the whole day for me was the packed dance floor giving it their all to a Strip the Willow with the James Bond theme tune being worked into the music - absolutely superb! "Thanks you so much The Shooglers for playing at our wedding in April. I booked you after receiving a recommendation from the bass player of my own band. He was at a function you guys were playing at last year and he raved about you so much I was really glad you were able to play for us. There were guests from Canada, Dublin and New Zealand at our wedding and they were all joining in and everyone had a superb night. I especially enjoyed how you blended in rock and pop tunes with some of the Ceilidh dances.
