"My legs are still aching because I danced so much! The band arrived on time and were very friendly and helpful and the music was delightful. It was a mixed crowd, many of whom had never met each other before but with one thing in common – they had never done ceilidh dancing before! The caller was absolutely brilliant – it didn’t matter that most people had no idea how to dance the reels! Everyone joined in and thoroughly enjoyed themselves."

"My wife and I heard The Full Beans at a friend’s wedding and felt they would be perfect for my Oktoberfest themed 30th birthday. They did not disappoint and were arguably even better than we remember. The two sets they played went down and absolute treat, the songs they played were a brilliant take on the originals, that got everyone up dancing and singing along, there were definitely no shortage of people on the dance floor. Jake, who helped organise, was really helpful and was always quick to respond to my emails. I would happily recommend them to anyone who wants a really good knees up! Thanks again, was cracking!"

The band was fantastic, playing great gypsy jazz songs that everyone enjoyed and we had even our dance to "Sing sing sing", which was amazing. "My husband and I wanted to plan a wedding day that combined all our passions and interests, and we were so lucky to find Fann Street Hot Club. For a reasonable price, they kept everyone dancing all afternoon, playing all the gypsy jazz tunes we've loved for years. Our memories of that day will always be so special to us, and we'll always hear the soundtrack of the band playing our favourite music when we look back and remember. "We absolutely loved having Black Velvet Band play our wedding ceilidh at Clearwell Castle. My husband is from Scotland so we wanted a traditional Scottish ceilidh feel with some of the classics, and we were not disappointed! We had a good feeling about Black Velvet band from the moment we booked them - and sure enough, Mike and the guys were absolutely fantastic and made our evening party a huge success. The band were great and the instructions on the ceilidh dances were so helpful; even those of our party who may not have normally danced were up there loving life on the dancefloor. The fun and friendly atmosphere they created was just fab and so different from your ‘usual’ evening do. All our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the ceilidh and some said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. We would 100% book the band again and recommend them to friends. "We came across Swing Gitan at the Nottingham Contemporary and were both taken by their energetic and uplifting sound delivered in a skilled and playful fashion. Since then we have had the pleasure of seeing quite a few of their gigs and never been disappointed and so when we were considering who to book for our wedding last august the choice was easy. We wanted music for music lovers that people could also dance to and were no disappointed. The whole process of booking the band and arranging the specifics as well as asking them to learn the Waltz that we intended to dance to was just really straight forward and pleasurable which was certainly helped by Elliott’s easygoing ways and quiet confidence that this would turn out the way we had hoped. We feel very lucky and blessed to have had the good fortune together such good people for our wedding occasion and the presence of Swing Gitan was a large part of that. Indeed, it was a testament to the success of the band that people of all backgrounds and ages loved their performances and demonstrated this through dancing, shouting and cheering throughout the night. Needless to say, we would highly recommend this band to anyone seeking a great sounding and quirky gypsy jazz band! "
