"We booked Swing Gitan for our wedding on 7 September. We had seen them a couple of times around Nottingham and really liked their style and music. On the day itself, they played for about 2 hours with a short break in the middle. We really loved their music and it fit in well with our venue, which was in a barn and marquee on a farm. They were great at replying to all our questions which was one less thing to worry about when planning a wedding! All our guests really enjoyed them too; their music appeals across all ages and we had lots of comments that it was great to hear something a bit different at a wedding. We wouldn't hesitate to book them for another occasion!"

"Wedding with around 100 guests and I had a vision of having jazz musicians setting the scene me and this was done perfectly. Really set the tone for the day and could not have asked for anything more. Very professional, accommodating and friendly. Can’t recommend more. Any event I now do will have these musicians if available! The music was exactly what I had been looking for! 10/10 reccomend"

"Really loved the music, it was perfect for setting the tone for our garden style wedding. The band were super easy going and were patient when our timings slightly overran, which we were super appreciative of. The band took the initiative to set up outside for their first set which we loved! All of our guests loved the music and told us how great it was to either dance along to or simply enjoy while drinking and chatting. Will definitely be recommending to others. "Black Velvet Band Irish Trio - Cheltenham Gold Cup - March 2025 Absolutely brilliant band - everybody loved them! We booked the band to play at The Three Lions, Stourport-on-Severn on Gold Cup Day 2025 and didn't regret the decision. They came in set up and started playing straight away and immediately the dance floor was full. We were turning people away at the door as the pub was full to the brim! They played to the crowd and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves as well. "

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio / 16/07/2021 / Cecilia and Johny’s Wedding Mike and the Black Velvet Band played at our wedding and put together a fantastic set. They had very thoughtfully come up with some more Covid secure dances to cater for people wishing to stay in their respective bubbles but managed to maintain the energy and enthusiasm throughout. The music was brilliant and the calling was the best that I’ve seen at a ceilidh (a difficult skill to perfect!). We did 6 or 7 dances and the band very considerately asked how we (my wife and I) would like to lead the dances to ensure plenty of people engaged but we had no concerns as everyone joined in. All of our guests were delighted and we can’t thank the band for stepping in at relatively short notice, we had a brilliant time."

"What a fabulous party we had with everyone entering into the spirit of the ceilidh! The music was great and the caller was exceptionally patient with the disproportionate number of young men at the party. It was a really mixed crowd – plenty of teens and twenties, through to those in their eighties. The dance floor was full throughout the evening and everyone, both young and old joined in, including the determined non dancers. Several people commented on what a lovely time they’d had. I’m very happy to recommend the band."
