"Bessie’s life in blues brought back to life. Some performers deserve to be known by more than their work. Bessie Smith won fame as Empress of the Blues in the 1020’s, but there was more to her life than money and fame. She died in 1937, but 80 years on a good sized crowd were held rapt at the Thunderbolt as Dave Merrick narrated her life story, from a ragged upbringing in the American South, with the help of original recordings. Bessie shot to fame because her unique vocal style could cut through the limitations of 1920s recording technology. But it was the live performances the Totterdown audience were waiting for, and Natalie Davis on vocals, with Dave on guitar and Brenan Whitmore on saxophone did not disappoint. "Boogie Bumpers was booked for a 60th birthday party, having found the band online. As advertised it is a swing and jive band, so clearly not suitable if you are wanting more modern music. The evening more than met our expectations and a fantastic evening was had by all. We have nothing but absolute praise and positivity for the experience. The seven piece band brought energy and professional musicality to the occasion and we were fantastically entertained. They performed two one hour sets with a mix of slower and more energetic numbers. The vocalist was superb and set the right tone for the evening. It was loud for a small pub Tithe Barn venue but that was good. We cannot thank Andrew enough for the way he was able to accommodate our requirements. This was originally booked for mid July but, because of illness in our family, it had to be postponed until late September. This proved no problem to the band. Andrew's communication throughout via email was excellent and welcome. Probably to get the best from the band, the venue could have been a little bigger (to get the very best from the band they need a venue that houses 50-60+ comfortably) and they would be especially suited to a wedding reception venue. Although the cost appeared a little prohibitive for the sort of gathering and numbers we were expecting for this party, the price paid in the end was excellent value and worth every penny. Our sincere thanks go to Andrew and his fellow band members for providing us with lovely memories, hopefully, for years to come!"

"We booked Amplified based on a recommendation from a friend - and they were one of the highlights of our wedding weekend! Rhona and the band were very easy to work with during the planning process, which included organising the band's travel and equipment hire in France, and setup of several locations. Our guests were entertained throughout the day and night with several different styles and a large repertoire. Amplified were friendly, professional and we would highly recommend them to everyone!! "

"To just say Ineza can sing is a little short of a musical crime - Ineza is more than just singing - Ineza's vocal performance transcends even the most accomplished jazz singers of today. (Samara Joy is good, but Ineza is better!). Her fluid and joyful tone, reminiscent of the greats, really set the romantic mood when she performed with her trio at our wedding this summer (2024), every song was as smooth as the last and we loved it! "The Honky Tonk Hardies were perfect entertainment at our wedding. The band had great charisma and were true proffesionals!.. people couldn't believe we found them through the Internet! As soon as the band started playing the dance floor was never empty! Toe tapping great rock and roll tunes that everyone enjoyed! We would love to see The Honky Tonk Hardies perform again as they were that enjoyable... their set seemed to be over far too quickly! Great atmosphere makers, a must hire for any couple looking for entertainment at their wedding!"

"Wasn’t sure at first whether to have a band as we had an in house DJ but so glad I did. I asked the band to learn our first dance song which they did perfectly and entertained everyone all night. Everyone was on the dance floor and that is what I wanted, and everyone has been saying how good they were. Highly recommend. "
