"I just have to thank Black Velvet Band for the great job they did at my 70th birthday ceilidh in Bristol on 24th June. I had such a great time, and that was partly down to the three of them working hard, and giving us great music to dance to. I danced every dance and enjoyed it so much. When the caller was explaining how to reel I thought, "Uh oh, this'll be fun!" and it certainly was ... I haven't laughed so much in ages. So, well done everyone involved, and if we ever have another I'll be sure to contact you again."

"A great bunch of lads who made our wedding reception swing. Their set was exactly what we wanted and set exactly the right atmosphere. They even let me take the mic for 2 songs. Which they probably regretted within seconds! A great choice for any kind of party."

"The music was fantastic. We danced the whole time and Catherine was in touch with us beforehand to check our music needs. It was great...what energy and fantastic voices they both had. Everyone loved them and I would recommend you all to others. "I just wanted to say a very big thank you to you all for a most memorable ceilidh at Ross and Susie’s wedding on 6th October. We have had many compliments on your ceilidh band and the dancing, and with many coming from a bunch of southerners, that is praise indeed! The calling and walk-throughs were just right and enabled anyone who wanted to, to join in. I was so pleased to see the dance floor full all night and everyone having such fun. Your playlist was very well thought out with a good array of well known dances and one or two lesser known but all good fun and not so complicated, all with tunes of a good pace. My sister came off after dancing the Cumberland Square (?) saying “That was great, I’ve always wanted to learn that one!” My knees have not recovered yet from all the dancing- but I wouldn’t have it any other way! I am sure Ross and Susie will thank you themselves in due course. In the meantime I shall thank you once again. I would not hesitate to recommend you to friends and family for a great ceilidh night."

"We absolutely loved having Kirsty at our wedding. Her performance was fantastic, we had a band on before her and it was a tough act to follow - but she managed it tremendously. She was brilliant at quickly figuring out what got the wedding party dancing the night away and was always on top of where to take it next. Along with a great performance, her communication was absolutely superb before the event. She spent time going through what we wanted to get from the set, what our music tastes were, what we did want to be played (and did not!) and so much more. On the night Kirsty worked around lots of timings and was hugely flexible. Above all, she is a really nice person who we just felt throughout wanted to do all she could to help make our night even more special. Talented and highly recommended"

"Thank you to both of you for your involvement in a wonderful evening at the Savoy. We were aiming for a fun yet sophisticated event during which the girls and parents could be together for one last time before the exams and then leaving Wycombe Abbey and you fulfilled the brief completely. Your set during dinner was pitch perfect, beginning with gentle, mellifluous music to provide a sympathetic background to the general chit-chat over dinner. An hour later, the guests had forgotten their chatter and were totally absorbed in the consummate performance of lively and accomplished numbers."

"Kirsty was amazing, she absolutely nailed the brief and really got the crowd going. The dancefloor was full the whole evening and she managed to get all guest requests in. She was absolutely awesome and really took the time to understand what we wanted. She went above and beyond at every step – even helping us with other wedding bits like lighting etc. Would hesitate to book Kirsty again, she really made the evening so special and we couldn’t be more grateful – thank you so so much!!!"
