What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

One of my personal favourites was hosting my own festival "Rum, Reggae and Groove" with the best Jamaican food, & Rum and eight of us DJ's on rotation from noon to midnight.

When the sun went down the fire pits were lit, people still talk about the vibe now.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Some of my favourite artists vocally Dusty Springfield, Ray LaMontagne, Amy Winehouse, Bonnie Raitt, George Michael, Annie Lennox, Rufus Wainwright.

Some of favourite songs to play in a DJ set
Atomic - Blondie
Richie Havens - Going Back To My Roots
Fat Boy Slim - Praise You (Purple Disco Remix)
LCD Soundsystem - Home
Slippery People - The Staple Sisters
ESG - Dance
Robyn - Dancing On My Own
Dee Lite - Groove is in the Heart
Begin Again - Jessie Ware (Joe Goddard Mix)

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I started performing live with my guitar at 15 years old, and haven't looked back, I then went and studied music at college and for the last 15 years i've taken it to the next level and performed live and DJ's at hundreds of professional & private events.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I like the variety of each unique event, however my favourite type's are the ones where the person hosting or event planner has thought of every element that great the right atmosphere a great building or location, layout, lighting, & food.

Of course I love the summer and outside, there's something magical about playing music at magic hour.

Weddings...

I am wholly LGBTQ inclusive

A wedding should reflect you the couple first.

Second reflect your union celebrated with your family (chosen or biological) & friends.

Third give some consideration to the venue.

Music is the backdrop to living a life well lived, & if done right your wedding party will be even more joyous & memorable.

Go against what you think is the done thing, stand out from the crowd it really works 200% better.

Couples know their crowd better than any online song list will, so take chances, I promise (from years of experience) that it will pay off.

Can I play live music during cocktails, DJ during dinner, MC the day?

YES

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

Setup takes 45-60 minutes before start if no equipment is onsite.
Arrival is usually 1 hour before the start of performance.
Extra charges for an early set up or late finish will be applied.
Packdown takes 45-60 minutes.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, flat level surface is a must for DJing, singing I can be a bit more free with location especially if unplugged.
Rain cover in England usually has to be discussed.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Yes, unless they give me free reign all my playlists or song choice are discussed before every event in detail.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

DJ - Usually open and eclectic taste, great high energy atmosphere, great communication & professionalism, and usually a note about my at ease manner and ease at which I can adapt to situations.

LIVE - Usually a reference to my wide tastes and era & genre defying mash-ups.
My well intentioned crowd banter & strong vocal style.
