Having toured the UK and abroad playing at clubs and festivals with many great bands, Graham decided to use his experience to put together Hot Stomp Strollers. From the outset the philosophy was that good music should be combined with good entertainment: the musicians in the band should enjoy working together to make the many old tunes we play sound fresh and new. The band’s repertoire is drawn largely from the small group jazz of the 20’s and 30’s with a few other interesting numbers from other eras thrown in to spice things up.
Hot Stomp Strollers have been building a reputation as a band that is not only a lot of fun to listen to but also great to dance to, bringing joy to clubs and festivals as far afield as Cornwall and Cumbria although most often seen in and around London.

The musicians that make up the band have all toured the world, some have played on big stages to thousands, some of us have had original works performed in major concert halls, but Hot Stomp Strollers are a group of friends who are professional musicians that like entertaining people whatever the event. Some of our most memorable gigs have been playing to a small group of people helping to make a special occasion that little bit more special.
We are all jazz musicians influenced by many of the great icons of jazz, and also by the other musicians we play with. We are continually learning. The influences for Hot Stomp Strollers leans strongly towards the great jazz musicians of the early days of jazz - originally from New Orleans.
I've made my living as a freelance gigging musician since my 20's when I turned my back on a career in engineering. I've met many great musicians and friends on the way, and this band gathers some together.
We enjoy playing wherever we are valued and appreciated.
