Caravan Swing, the UK's most authentic Gypsie and Klez swing band.

We are comprised of some of the UK’s top musicians, from a broad range of backgrounds, Jewish and Gypsy folk to Jazz and Scottish trad. Our music is a unique, energy filled cocktail of authentic klezmer, gypsy jazz and Scottish music.

Consummate professionals, whilst we can fit into most musical setting, great or small, we also promise to intoxicate any large celebration (festival, wedding, bar mitzvah etc) with infectiously foot stomping tunes.

We have a large repertoire of klezmer classics, gypsy and straight ahead jazz as well as post-modern DB style arrangements of classic pop standards. We also revel breathing new life into Benny Goodman’s klezmer swing classics such as Bei Mir Bist Du Shon and Mahzel. As if that’s not enough, if you are wanting a more Scottish flavour, we have successfully fused gypsy swing with Scottish trad, and can play for and call a guid auld ceilidh, lead by our award winning fiddler Ruaridh. To top it, we also can provide professional Tango, Swing and Scottish Highland Dancers too to add a really special something to the occasion.

Experienced and dedicated, we formed in 2015 and have performed both as a band and individually throughout the UK and indeed across Europe at top venues including the Edinburgh Jazz Bar, Edinburgh Story Telling Club, Prague’s Jazz Dock, Glasgow’s The Old Fruit Market, BBC TV (Scotland) as well as for numerous weddings and community celebrations.

So whatever the event, if you like what we do there’s no need to schlep any further!

The full band is a 5tet, but we can also perform duet, trios, 4tet and 6tet combinations and we have a wonderful pool of fantastic Jazz vocalists to add a bit of sassiness to the set.
