Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

1 x piano stool or chair without arms
Space of at least 2 x 2 meters
Flat, level surface

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Lighting on the harp only
I provide my own battery amp
With guests numbers 250 + I recommend using a sound engineer to amplify the harp

What information do you require about a venue?

Parking and access are the most important bits of information. Are there staircases or can I use a lift if the event is upstairs.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes I can play a Spotify playlist through my speaker during my breaks.

Are you completely acoustic?

Yes and no. I absolutely can be, but I love using my battery amp to help the harp be heard above chatter during receptions and dinners. Depending on guest numbers, I usually always recommend using my amp (at no extra charge), but if numbers are on the more intimate side (30 guests or fewer) then it won't be needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

I once performed with 11 other harpists all on raised platforms around the Raphael Gallery in the V&A Museum. We all had ear pieces to follow each other and were wearing the same beautiful dresses. We were accompanying a very beautiful dinner for an extremely important client.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

I have an extremely eclectic taste in music so have been influenced by many different styles including Muse, Debussy, Ravel, Coldplay, Frank Sinatra and Rachel Portman.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I fell into playing for events after graduating from university with a first in harp performance. I managed to win the Waldorf Hotel job a few years later, and that paved the way to perfecting my craft, adding huge amounts of music to my list and becoming increasingly more in demand.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I love all kinds of events, but I do love high end evening events the most as they're usually the most artistically designed and have fabulous entertainment.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I will aim to arrive 45-60 minutes before I'm due to start. I can set up in as little as 15 minutes, but like to give myself extra time just in case.
I can play up to an hour before taking a break, but typically I'll play sets of 45 minutes with 10-15 minutes break between each one.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes if the conditions are right. It must be warm and dry, and the harp must have suitable shelter and be on a flat, level surface.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I create bespoke set lists for each client.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

The most common feedback describes me as delighting guests with well known songs that translate so ethereally to the harp. Most guests love the classical crossover element, which Bridgerton has made so famous in recent years.

How long can you play before taking a break?

I don't like playing longer than an hour before taking a break.

I have a song request which isn't on your list. Can you learn it for me?

I love learning new music, so 99% of the time it's a yes! It will depend on the music, and whether I can find sheet music etc. If sheet music isn't available and you have your heart set on something, then I do offer a bespoke arrangement at a small charge. I learn up to three requests included in my normal rate, and anything extra will be a small charge.
