Not only does having a harp look elegant and catch the eye of all your guests, but it is one of the few instruments able to create a beautifully unobtrusive music setting. Guests are able to enjoy the music without it imposing on their conversation. As an instrument of beauty in both sound and looks, the harp is ideally suited to wedding ceremonies, drinks receptions and sit down meals of up to 200 people.
As Resident Harpist at the Waldorf Hotel, Covent Garden, Cecily can often be glimpsed in long, beautiful dresses (which she happily refers to as her 'office clothes') entertaining guests with serene harp music over their Afternoon Tea in the Grand Homage Salon. She is in huge demand for weddings and functions. Over the years her clientele has ranged from Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones, to Time Out Magazine, to HM Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. She has performed all over the world including Europe, North America, the Middle East, the French Polynesia, New Zealand, Tasmania and Australia. Most recently she appeared as a guest recitalist in Kuwait City, performing as part of the British Council’s Cultural Season at the Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah in collaboration with the British Embassy of Kuwait.
Cecily plays a large range of music which can easily be tailored for your event. A glimpse of her repertoire list is below but Cecily is always happy to learn extra songs for your event. Genres include classical, light jazz and blues, 60s-modern pop, film, folk and traditional.
Based near London, Cecily is willing to travel up to 100 miles to play for your event.
