The musicians in Heatons String Quartet are experienced players, based in the North West. We also work as a string trio.
We perform a huge variety of music; ranging from Classical favourites to Swing, Tangos, Beatles and a growing selection of Popular songs including: Bridgerton songs (Netflix), One Day Like This (Elbow), A Thousand Years, Game of Thrones Theme, Songbird (Eva Cassidy), A Million Love Songs (Take That) and many more. Our selection is always increasing and the quartet is happy to source a particular song for your special event. We have played for weddings and events in many venues throughout the North West; such as Manchester Art Gallery, Shrigley Hall, Mottram Hall, Tatton Park, Arley Hall and many more. In addition to our quartet work, we have played with the region's top orchestras such as Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Opera North and Northern Chamber Orchestra. We have also worked in West End shows, toured throughout the UK and have appeared as backing musicians in
bands for artistes such as Katherine Jenkins, Russell Watson, Hayley Westenra, Texas and for the Strictly Come Dancing Tour.'

We can move after the ceremony to another location. This will take me about 10 minutes.
Yes. If the weather is good we can play outside. We will need shade though to protect the instruments.
I'm not sure there is a 'best', because big or small - we enjoy all our gigs. We have certainly enjoyed playing at Arley Hall - the venue used for 'Fool Me Once' (Netflix) and Peaky Blinders. Pete was actually playing in the string quartet for the filming of Peaky Blinders. We also love playing at the Manchester Art Gallery - always a treat to go there.
We have a mix of music from Classical to film and contemporary song. My favourite to play at the moment are the songs from Bridgerton (Netflix series). I am really enjoying these!
We have played together for a number of years. As freelance musicians, we have played together in orchestras, recordings and a variety of quartets. I met Pete and Owen at Guildhall School of music years ago! Pete and I subsequently went on to work together in the Scarborough Spa Orchestra. We have gone in different directions, but still enjoy playing in the string quartet.
We love playing at all sorts of events, but weddings are our most frequent gigs. We enjoy them all!
Arrival about 30 mins before playing - this is included in the cost.
We are happy to play outside, but do require shade in the summer as protection from the sun for the instruments.
Clients always choose the music for their wedding ceremonies.
For the drinks reception, we play a mix of music to suit the guests present. There is no 'set' repertoire. Clients are welcome to request certain music to be played in the reception.

We usually start playing 10 minutes before the ceremony as your guests come into the room.

That is completely up to you. Usually we play a mix of light music. You are welcome to choose some of your favourite pieces from my list for me to play.
2 hours will cover the ceremony (and some of the drinks reception if required)
3 hours will cover the ceremony and the whole drinks reception.
