About / Biography

Transport yourself 60 years back in time and 3000 miles westwards with the sound of The Chartreuse Feathers. The band are made up of some of London's finest session musicians, brought together by their mutual love for early New Orleans rhythm & blues.

Specialising in recreating the original and authentic sound of R&B, The Cosimo Matassa Project are passionate about the 45" records that emerged from the New Orleans studios of Cosimo Matassa in the 1950s and 1960s by the likes of Little Richard, Ray Charles, Fats Domino, Dr. John, Allen Toussaint and Big Joe Turner.

Expect stylish horn licks, soulful vocals and classic tunes that are guaranteed to get the dance floor heaving.

What are your basic technical requirements?

Roughly 4 metres by 2.5 metres minimum stage.
4 power sockets close by.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We would normally turn up 75 minutes before the performance time. We are happy to remain on site for 4.5 hours including set up time. Earlier set ups or late gigs (i.e. finishing later than 12) could cost more. It takes around 45 minutes for us to set up, and about the same to pack down.

For 2 x 45 minute sets, max 4.5 hours on site, evening hours between 6pm and 12pm.
