She has also won the Young Musicians Awards in Portugal in the category of chamber music. Zita has also been a Finalist at the Patrons Awards, Royal Academy of Music, London.

She is passionate about chamber music and working closely in small ensembles which has led her to establish several groups such as her duo with tenor Kieran White, Portucale Trio with flute and viola, 94Strings Duo with harpist Glain Dafydd and a duo with violinist Beatriz Rola.

She has been invited to play with numerous orchestras including the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Orquestra Gulbenkian, the Royal Orchestral Society, the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra, the Bloomsbury Opera Orchestra, and the Academy Symphony Orchestra, working with prestigious conductors such as Sir Mark Elder, Semyon Bychkov, Yan Pascal Tortelier, Pedro Neves, Christopher Warren-Green, Manuel Lopez-Gomez and Eugene Corporon. She has also toured Portugal with the Orquestra XXI with emerging conductor Dinis Sousa and the Estágio Gulbenkian Orquestra under the baton of conductor Joana Carneiro.

Zita graduated with a First Class Honours Bachelor degree from the Royal Academy of Music in London in 2015 and with a Master of Arts with Distinction in 2017 under tutelage of Professor Karen Vaughan and Professor Emerita Skaila Kanga, supported with a scholarship by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Santander Universities UK and the Golden Charitable Trust.

What are your basic technical requirements?

Cover (parasol or equivalent to protect from sun) for outdoor events.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

I provide amplification.

What information do you require about a venue?

Are there stairs/staircases? What is access like? Is there free parking available?

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, I can provide Spotify service if the booking includes amplification.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

I've done various gigs which I am proud of. Perhaps some of the most exciting ones might have been playing with an orchestra for Stormzy at a musical festival and playing for the Andrea Bocelli UK Tour!

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

I love so many types of music and I can't say I've been influenced by one specific artist as there's so many I admire.
To name a few: Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I started playing for weddings and events even before starting uni!

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I love all kinds of events! At every event you get to meet different people and by sharing your music with them you get some interesting different feedback and some fun stories too!

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I arrive to the venue 1 hour before I need to start playing.
The performance time can vary, depending on the nature of the event.

usually I would play for 50 minutes at a time. However, if it's a 1h booking, I would play for the full hour.

Are you happy to perform outside?

I am happy to perform outside as long as there's shade, it's a flat level surface and I wouldn't have to place the harp on grass as if there's been rain (even if on previous days), this could mean it might be muddy.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I'm open to requests and happy for clients to choose which songs they want or don't from my list.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Usually they are very positively surprised by the sound of the harp and the ambience it brings to the event.
