About / Biography

From my earliest concerts at the Royal Brussels Conservatoire to my Carnegie Hall debut, I always yearned to be on stage: immersing myself in the sounds of the instrument and having the chance to communicate with people through music.

I started performing internationally after winning the 1st prize at the Steinway Piano Competition in Hamburg at age 13. I have since performed in ten European countries and the United States, in prestigious venues including St Martin-in-the-Fields in London, Nichols Hall in Chicago and Luxembourg Philharmonie.

I was fortunate to collaborate with outstanding musicians. I performed alongside Peter Cropper, played at the strings festivals at Gerardmer-Kichompré and at Château de Berbuigières, as well as at the Britten Pears chamber music festival. Our debut album with Duo Vershinina/Lee received glowing reviews on BBC Radio 3 and in the BBC Music Magazine.

I obtained my Masters Degree from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2017 and have been combining my performing career with teaching and lecturing duties.

I am a believer in the transcendental power of music and its ability to help us feel more empathy and embrace our shared humanity and feel that in our increasingly polarised world, music is the key to a kinder and fairer society.

My repertoire ranges from everyone’s favourite classical works, from Bach to the romantic era, to modern day lounge music.

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I need a keyboard in working order and in tune on the premises.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Unfortunately, no I do not have this equipment.

What information do you require about a venue?

I would need to know what sort of instrument is there and what condition is it in.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Unfortunately no, as I do not have the necessary equipment or skill set for that.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

I have performed with a violinist friend at a funeral of her family member and it was a beautiful and very moving ceremony. I also played at several friends’ weddings and it has always been such a joy to be able to share in the joy of the day through music! I also recall playing at Guerlain perfume launch event and I enjoyed playing some beautiful French music for this soffisticated event.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

When I come across a piano in a public space, I really like playing those pieces which aren’t necessarily part of my main repertoire as a concert pianist, but which I find really enjoyable to play just for “fun”. Such as Debussy’s Clair de lune, some Enaudi and some songs from cartoons, particularly from Studio Ghibli cartoons.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I am mainly a concert pianist, performing recitals as a soloist and chamber musician. However, I realise that the concert experience is a very particular one and I just wanted to find other opportunities to communicate with audiences through music without the restrictions of repertoire and of conventions that a formal classical recital imposes both on the performer and the audience.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I love all kinds of events, yet my favourite ones are still concerts because of how well-thought the programmes for those can be made to be!

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I am happy to perform for up to two hours and I need only a short time to familiarise myself with the venue and the piano ahead of the performance around 30 mins.

Are you happy to perform outside?

We are happy to perform outside, however on a rainy day a provision to cover the instrument would need to be made.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I have a wide range of repertoire, with lots of music available on my iPad. I can therefore accommodate quite a lot of requests. However, if you were able to provide ahead of time a list of music that you are likely to want to hear, that would be helpful to ensure I have all the necessary scores with me on the day.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

People describe my playing as elegant, smooth, with a rich palette of tonal colours.
