Hailing from a family of Aberdonians, Ed discovered his passion for the bagpipes at a tender age of 9, igniting a lifelong devotion to this iconic instrument. He has won competitions with pipe bands including Manchester Phoenix Pipe Band and Ashbourne Pipes and Drums and occasionally performs with Manchester Fire Service Pipe Band. He has taught as head bagpipe tutor at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate for over 8 years and also teaches the bagpipes privately.
Ed has played for celebrities including Sir Alex Ferguson and Steve Gerrard. He has also performed at Sheffield Arena for the internationally broadcast IIFA (Bollywood Awards). He has been included in footage for ITV's 'The Dale's and 'The Lakes' and hired by Ladbible to make an advert for Vodafone.
Ed has over thirty years of experience performing the bagpipes at events all over the UK and also internationally. He can perform in Full Highland Regimental Dress or the more traditional formal day/evening wear. He has a variety of tartans to match your theme including Brown, Royal Stewart, Black Stewart, Diaspora (Irish) and American Universal kilts.

30 minutes setup time prior to any event.
Performance times depend upon the event. Here are some typical examples:
Wedding Ceremonies:
30 minutes as guests are arriving
5 Minutes piping the bride down the aisle
5 minutes piping the bride and groom out of the ceremony room once they are married
30 minutes during photos / drinks reception
Wedding Receptions:
30 minutes piping as guests arrive
5 minutes piping the bride and groom to the top table
Parties:
3 x 10 minute performances within an hour with 10 minute breaks in-between each performance.
Funerals (Church)
10 minutes as the hearse arrives and leading the coffin to the church doors / down the aisle
10 minutes at the end of the service leading the coffin back out of church to the hearse
Funerals (Burial)
10 minutes leading the coffin to the graveside
10 minutes at the end of the service as mourners leave
Funerals (Crematorium)
10 minutes leading the funeral cortege to the chapel
5 minutes leading the coffin into the chapel
10 minutes at the end of the service as mourners gather outside
Burns Suppers
30 minutes as guests are arriving
5 minutes to pipe in the haggis and parade around the room
15 minutes during / after dinner
