Our sound is predominantly Irish / Celtic playing all three genres of the music that includes Trad (think jigs, reels, hornpipes etc.), Popular (think Whiskey in the Jar, The Irish Rover, I'll Tell Me Ma, Rattling Bog etc.) and Contemporary (think Brown Eyed Girl, Fisherman's Blues, Galway Girl etc.) but we also add a number of Americana type songs and tunes too (think Wagon Wheel, Copperhead Road, Ring of Fire etc.) Added to this 2 of our members are dance callers, so while we mainly play and sing we can also add a Ceilidh to our repertoire if required.
We have been fortunate to have played all over the UK, many European ski resorts, the USA, central America, Caribbean and of all places even Greenland. We have played well over 600 gigs that included many private events such as weddings, corporate, wakes etc. Festivals such as Festival of the Celts, Acoustic Festival of Great Britain, Hay on Wye Festival, along with umpteen beer, food and country festivals. Did I mention pubs...? Yup we have played at countless pubs, bars & restaurants both here and abroad.
Lastly the nature of our performance, while geared towards providing entertainment, is to ensure it's memorable and fun. To that end and assuming the vibe is right we encourage peeps to get involved be it singing, in which case we can busk, or playing if they want to join us for a tune.

Back in 2000 we started as a duo with guitar, mandolin & whistles. Over the following 4 years this grew to a band of 5 that then allowed us to offer a very dynamic & versatile sound for any occasion. To date we have played at over 600 gigs and our music has not only taken us all around the UK but also to many European ski resorts, the USA, central America, Caribbean and would you believe Greenland.
We don't have a favourite. So long as we can see people smiling, laughing, singing, dancing & clapping makes each event our favourite.
North Wales. 3 of our band members are based in Conwy and 2 in Denbigh
Ahhh now... this happened many years ago after a quite a heavy session on the Guinness when we though it was a good idea. Despite being mis named the "Hand Bag Band", "The Bin Bag Band", The Shopping Bag Band" and every other connotation of that name over the years, everyone now knows us as the Wee Bag Band, so we're stuck with it now... ?
Allowing for a 1 hour setup time we typically play 60 mins in the first set, take a 20/30 min break, then play 90 to 120mins in the 2nd.
