Performing in Monte Carlo for a gathering including Prince Rainier. Best venue, Royal Festival Hall, London.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

As a solo guitarist, Tommy Emmanuel, Martin Taylor, Joe Pass, Django Reinhardt. Music in general - too eclectic to say! Anything that has strong melody and feeling.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I’ve been gigging for 30 years after graduating from Leeds College of Music. I play in a number of different settings and have played festivals such as Glastonbury and Montreux in Switzerland. What's your favourite type of event to play at?

Wedding! It’s just me and my guitar playing for someone’s biggest day. It’s always a lovely atmosphere.

I also like playing at festivals as they are a great atmosphere too.

What are your typical setup and performance times?

Depends when the event is. I tend to arrive 1 hour before the given time as my equipment doesn’t take long to set up.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, but under cover if raining or bright sunshine. The weather can damage instruments. I also need power supply.

It’s always been described as being beautiful, calming and relaxing, without ever being too loud.
