Cool jazz from hot London - Trio Watts bring the effortless style of 1950s California to your doorstep through the music of Chet Baker, Gerry Mulligan, and the Great American Songbook.
"Andy’s music feels like I aspire to feel every day - relaxed, refined, elevated. I grew up in a home where jazz was listened to daily, and I lived in New York, so I want just that little bit more from the live music I listen to. I’d hire Trio Watts again and again for every corporate and important personal event where I know my guests and I want to experience something special." - Marta Krupinska - CEO, Cur8 Capital
Made in New Zealand, seasoned in London, cornet player Andy Watts fell in love with the lyrical and laconic style of Chet Baker whilst studying at the University of Auckland. The effortless smooth playing provided a beautiful contrast to his other favourites Clifford Brown, Lee Morgan and Freddie Hubbard!
Forming a classic trio line-up of Cornet, Guitar and Upright Bass (featuring long-time friends and collaborators Aleph Aguiar and Jason Simpson) Andy celebrates this laid back style with a huge repertoire of American Songbook standards, alongside some original music written specifically for the trio.
"Great players who bring a sense of style and sophistication to their performance, Trio Watts evoke that classic west coast feel, without losing sight of the fact that they’re modern, hip Londoners…" - A. Tibbitts - Director of Innovation & Growth, London & Partners
Having played regularly in London’s jazz hotspots (Ronnie Scott’s, Toulouse Lautrec, and Pizza Express Dean Street to name a few), Trio Watts transport their audience to a classic age in jazz, perfect to sip a cocktail to while the sun sets over London.

We need a performance space of approximately 3m x 2m.
We require two 13 amp power sockets, and 2 parking spaces where possible.
We are a self contained act, and don't require any PA system or microphones to perform.
Should you require a PA system for other sections of your event, we're happy to provide one, we can discuss this when confirming the booking.
Location of venue, and load-in details.
We can figure everything else out when we arrive!
If we're providing a PA system as mentioned above, we're happy to provide a spotify playlist between sets.
In 2021 we performed in the cocktail lounge at the Google for Startups "Black Founders Fund" closing party.
It was amazing to be surrounded by the pick of the Startup Founders from the UK and Europe, and create a memorable atmosphere at their graduation event.
Chet Baker, Gerry Mulligan, and Miles Davis. We love the laidback style exemplified by these artists, and how it creates a sophisticated and effortless mood in the room.
We met at jam sessions on the London jazz scene in 2014, and have been playing together in various formats since.
We've played hundreds of gigs from stadium lounges to cosy cocktail bars, and love to create a vibe in whatever space we're playing in.
Every event has it's own unique energy, and we love meeting new people and hearin their stories - so each event can be spectactular. As something of a throwback to bygone eras, we have a special affinite for dimly lit cocktail bars, in a hip corners of Europe's major cities.
We generally arrive an hour or more before the performance time to setup.
Our setup time is roughly 15 minutes, so we can be ready to go very quickly.
Our standard performance time is 2 x 45 minute sets, however we're happy to play for as long as our clients require.
Playing outside is no problem, but we would ask that we have a flat surface to set up in, and conveniently located power supply.
We draw from a repertoire of over 300 jazz standards.
If clients have any specific requests from that catalogue, we're happy to include them in the set.
