The harp is a beautiful and romantic addition to any wedding; I am a highly experienced wedding harpist and am flexible to meet whatever requests you may have to make your day unique. What could be more magical than walking down the aisle to your favourite love song being played on the fairy-tale sound of the harp?
I am an international award-winning harpist with over 15 years of performing experience, and am honoured to have given solo performances for the late HM The Queen and at Downing Street, performances on prime-time national TV and in venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Windsor Castle, The Savoy, The Corinthia, The Ritz, The Mandarin Oriental Hotel, and I regularly entertain guests as Resident Harpist at the Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire. I received my Master's degree in Harp Performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire in Greenwich and was awarded the prestigious John Marson prize for an outstanding harpist, and other prizes include First Medal at the UFAM international competition in Paris and 1st Prize at the National Eisteddfod in Wales.
As someone who recently got married myself, I understand that the most important thing is to make sure that your day goes as smoothly, professionally, and most importantly as magically as it can, and so my main focus is to provide a friendly and highly informative service months before the big day comes.
The first thing to think about is the type of music you may like - this is your chance to make your wedding day special and tailored for you and your partner. I have played a huge range of repertoire in weddings in the past (some examples include songs by Ed Sheeran, The Beatles, Kate Bush, jazz standards, film soundtracks as well as all the classical repertoire such as Canon in D by Pachelbel and the Bridal March by Wagner), and people are often surprised at how well some songs work on the harp. No request is out of bounds! If you are unsure of what specific music you might like, this isn't a problem - I have a few set playlists designed to create a calming, elegant and magical atmosphere.
For all my wedding clients I offer an invitation to pop round to my home in Surrey for a cup of tea and a chat about the repertoire for the wedding and a chance to hear some of your choices before the day itself, or if this isn't possible then a meeting via Skype can be arranged.
