With Matthew bringing his rich, rhythmic double bass lines and Michael weaving intricate melodies on acoustic guitar, our harmonies complete the sound, creating an atmosphere that is as uplifting as it is memorable.

Our journey into music started in very different places. Matthew, an Irishman with a love for traditional music, found his calling on the bass during his teenage years, trained in both classical and contemporary genres. Michael, hailing from Germany, grew up with the sounds of acoustic legends ringing through his household. Learning guitar as a child, he refined his craft through years of playing in various bands and ensembles, perfecting the balance of rhythm and melody. Between us we have over 40 years musical experience. Our paths crossed in Liverpool and we bonded over our shared influences—artists like The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Elvis, The Dubliners and Simon & Garfunkel - to name but a few.

Since meeting, we’ve had the privilege of performing at a variety of venues and events, each one adding a special chapter to our story. What truly drives us is the feedback from our audience.
