The Swing Effect are an energetic UK based jazz/swing/NOLA outfit playing the best of the 1920's, through the classic swing era, to more modern material with an old-time twist. Featuring some of London's finest musicians as well as graduates from Leeds College of Music's prestigious jazz course.
Based in Lincolnshire, this band is ready to cook up the spirit of hot New Orleans jazz at your event, delivering something different in a bespoke package tailored to your needs. Perfect for Gatsby parties, weddings, festivals or corporate events throughout the UK or internationally.
The Swing Effect are a flexible ensemble and can perform as anything between a jazz duo to full a raucous 8-piece swing band. They are fully self contained with PA and lighting as well as PAT certificates and pubic liability upon request.

Yes, we’re completely self contained. We bring our own PA system to all of our gigs as well as basic lighting.
Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music.
Setup will and soundcheck will usually take 60-90 minutes and standard set times are 2 x 60 minute sets.
We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.
We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to 1 song. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them.
