With a mixture of head-nodding grooves and tight vocal harmonies, The Smokin' Mirrors can be a focus for your room or a background addition to the vibe of your space. All professional and experienced performers, the band will read your crowd to find the right mix of slick and sassy, or laid back and approachable, even taking requests from the audience if the mood calls for it. Meg and Bridget have been performing together at venues, functions and festivals for over a decade, with Monni completing the trio in 2022.
Meg has toured internationally as an actor, vocalist, and songwriter, playing global venues including Blue Note (Milan and Tokyo), The Jazz Cafe, Ronnie Scott's and Love Supreme Festival. Meg's Singer/Songwriter background originated in New York City, where she was part of the anti-folk scene in the East Village. She has released two solo albums, toured as the female vocalist for Matt Bianco, and works as a jazz singer in London.
Bridget is riginally from Aotearoa (New Zealand) and has been touring internationally with UK bands since 2013, with a résumé that includes Glastonbury, Ronnie Scott's, Boomtown, Shambala, Latitude, We Out Here, PizzaExpress Live, Isle of Wight Festival, New Zealand's National Jazz Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe. Bridget is the bandleader of London future-soul collective, 10:32, and regularly plays in and around London.
Emanuela is an Italian drummer based in North London whose versatility and open minded approach has made her a generative force in projects of all stripes. After more than a decade spent training at conservatoires and academies in Italy, her move to London in 2014 sparked collaborations on array of projects from Reggae, Electronic, Big Band, Folk, African, Brass Band to Alternative and many more. Recent endeavours include a study trip to Ghana in 2020 in pursuit of her original project Biako Ye, her work as a live session musician, a band member in several projects (including a community Rooftop Concerts series over lockdown) and her work as a resident musician for contemporary dance venues including ‘The Place’ and ‘Rambert'.
The band are available to travel by car, train or further afield and can provide instruments, stands and amplification requirements for most smaller to mid-size spaces in the UK, but depending on your event, venue or location, additional PA and music equipment may be required.
