"We have never had as many people on the dancefloor in all our awards history. The band were fantastic!"
Jeremy Brinkworth, Director, "Visit England" Awards of Excellence
The Jazz Prescription is a Jazz & Swing band that caters for every occasion: parties, weddings, corporate events and performs locally, across the UK and abroad. The band has been wowing audiences for over 10 years and is fronted by singer/pianist Jeremy Sassoon.
Jeremy is a well known singer pianist in the UK and one of the unique selling points of the band is that the musicians he picks are the finest session musicians in the UK and have played with the top A-list stars. The musicians you see in the profile pictures alone have played or toured with Chaka Khan, Sister Sledge, Eric Clapton, The Eagles, Jamiroquai, Kylie Minogue, Rod Stewart, Sting, The Brand New Heavies, Natalie Cole, Mel C, Corinne Bailey Rae and Will Young. He can bring this calibre of musicians to your own wedding or event at yet at a competitive price
The Jazz Prescription setlist is unique and takes you on a musical 'journey through time', starting with the Jazz & Swing era, passing through the Jump-Jive of the 1950's, and ending with a dancefloor-filling selection of pop & soul favourites from the 60's, 70's & beyond.
The band size is tailored to fit your individual event, varying from a 3-piece to a 7-piece band with a full brass section, depending on the size of your event
As well as playing at your private event, band leader, singer pianist Jeremy has played at the world's top jazz clubs and festivals: Ronnie Scotts (London) The Iridium (New York). He has a residency at the Boisdale Clubs (London) and entertains at the Shard, the Arts Club (Mayfair) as well as appearing at high profile events such as The UEFA Champions League Final and The Americas Cup sailing regatta finals (Valencia). The band has been booked by Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren, Manchester United,
Jeremy's winning formula is that he builds close relationships with clients and audiences alike. In the past 12 months, he has provided live jazz for a dinner party for two and a theatre for 800!
"Sassoon is a charming and witty front-man. He can make the audience feel immediately at ease" London Jazz News

We provide all sound equipment for up to 200 guests. If over this number, we'd hire in a PA system/sound engineer. We don't carry lighting as standard.
Each venue is different. We would discuss the type of venue at the first enquiry and I would work out what was relevant for that venue
Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to let the client compile their favourite playlist . Everybody's tastes are different and we're happy to accommodate that.
The best venue is headlining Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club during the London Olympics and the best other gig was the Love Supreme Festival near Brighton infront of 8000 people!
I also enjoyed playing in Mumbai
Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and Nina Simone. The greatest song ever must be Eric Morecambe playing Grieg's Piano Concerto (the right notes... not necessarily in the right order!)
My previous experience was in medicine. I'm a qualified doctor and hospital psychiatrist who left the profession a while back to pursue a career in music!
It's hard to pick. For me, the type of event doesn't matter, it's the people I'm playing to, and the atmosphere we create together.
For smaller gigs requiring background music, I have everything from solo to quartet. The 6-7-piece bands are usually for dancing only.
Please enquire.
I look forward to hearing from you
2 x 45min sets or 1 x 90min for dancing.
Up to 3 x 40 min sets for background music
Yes. I love playing outside. We need cover/shade if it was a hot day (like a gazebo) or if there was any chance of rain
I'm happy for clients to choose some songs, but one of my favourite parts of the job is 'reading the room' so, armed with their list, I will pick the songs as we go along based on atmosphere
Uplifting, classy, interactive.
