Playing to a high standard, Simon is the leading piper in Herefordshire and surrounding areas and he can supply the tunes to make your occasion memorable. He is Pipe Sergeant for the Cwmbran & District Pipes and Drums, currently the largest pipe band in Wales and has over 23 years providing a top-class and authentic piping experience.
About Simon

He has recently been promoted to Pipe Sergeant for the Cwmbran and District Pipes and Drums in South Wales. Simon is a full-time piper and also offers tuition for the Great Highland Bagpipe.

I don't require any form of amplification or a power supply.
I'm entirely self-contained
I usually ask for a room in which I can leave instrument cases and get changed (if required)
No, as I'm an entirely acoustic act
There are too many excellent gigs to mention but Brympton House in Yeovil and Stanbrook Abbey in Worcester are possibly the best wedding venues I have ever piped at.
Piping wise- Fred Morrison, Bill Livingstone, Gavin Stoddart and Davy Spillane. As for pipe bands- the 78th Fraser Highlanders, the pipes and drums of the Atholl Highlanders, Huntly And District, The Gordon Highlanders and Bagad Kemper from Brittany. Cullen Bay is possibly my favourite tune to play on the pipes along with The Heights Of Dargai
My first ever gig was piping in the New Year at a hotel in Hereford in 2000 and since then, I've performed at literally thousands of events over the last 23 years.
I enjoy all events as they each have a unique experience. I pipe for a lot of solemn events such as funerals, ceremonial events and memorial services and for those, I am in heavy demand but my favourite type of event has to be Burns Night or a Hogmanay party.
Yes, I play the Scottish Smallpipes and they are great for adding some background music at indoor events where the Highland Pipes would be too loud
I usually require at least 10 minutes to get the pipes set up and in tune and a room to get changed if I have to travel to a performance.
Yes , I play outdoors as well as indoors.
I am happy for a client to submit a request although I have an extensive repertoire which I'm more than happy to let the client choose music from the list. I also advise as to which pieces will be suitable for the client's needs.
