About / Biography

The Grateful Dads is a London-based 4-piece covers band available for parties, events and celebrations in London and the South-East. We have an extensive and ever-growing set to choose from with the emphasis firmly on rocking-up anything we can get their hands on!

Having been friends since university and played in many bands over the years, we have over a decade of musical and performing experience coupled with with an upretentious and friendly attitude that has packed the dancefloors of pubs, clubs, weddings, birthdays, parties, charity bashes and, yes, even a bar mitzvah.

From getting the staff dancing on the bar at Be At One Monument to filling the floor at a dentist's convention in St Pancras, our history is as eclectic as our setlist. We're dedicated to bringing fun times and leaving the audience with a happy glow, so give us a spin and we look forward to playing for you soon!

We need a performance space of at least 5 meters x 5 meters. We require 2 x 13 amp power sockets and 2 parking spaces."

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

We bring our own PA system to all of our gigs. Lighting can be arranged for an additional fee, otherwise it will be the responsibility of the venue or event organiser.

What information do you require about a venue?

We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment, as well as if there is a noice curfew.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We normally arrive at least 2 hours before the performance to set up and usually perform 2 x 45 minutes or 2 x 60 minute sets, but we’re happy to vary set lengths or play for a bit longer if the audience really doesn't want us to stop!

Are you happy to perform outside?

Playing outside is no problem but we ask for some form of waterproof cover such as a tent or marquee, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them. We encourage song suggestions which are not in our set list, and will learn them if time and suitability permits!
