The performance area should meet the band’s minimum spatial requirements, i.e., 3.5 meters in width, 2.2 meters in height, and 2.5 meters in depth. In the event that the Client or Venue supplies a stage, it is imperative that such stage maintains its structural integrity under the combined weight of the band and its equipment.
Furthermore, the performance area must be adequately sheltered, effectively protecting the band and their equipment from water, rain, high winds, falling debris, snow, or any other conditions that might result in equipment damage or pose safety risks.
The client/venue must ensure a safe supply of electricity. The band requires at least two 230/240v, 13-amp power-rated sockets within 2 metres of their Performance area.
Dependant on location, the band may need up to 4 parking spaces.
We provide a completely self contained set up which includes a PA system and lighting rig. If your venue does have an in house PA system and/or lighting rig, please let us know and this may allow us to reduce travel costs as well as ensuring an efficient set up process.
We would require the full address of any venue as well as any instructions on where is best to load equipment in and out. We would also need to know whether there is a sound limiter in place as this may change the equipment we bring, with lower dB limits generally resulting in us using electric drums. It's also handy to have a good idea of timings and how things run at the venue to ensure we can arrive at an appropriate time for set up and don't go over any curfews that the venue may have.
Yes, we can. If you are interested in us providing music throughout your evening up until midnight or venue curfew (whichever is earlier), please let us know and we can add this onto your package. We are happy to use some of the tried and tested playlists that have served us well in the past but are also more than happy for you to curare playlists for any/all sections and send them over to us prior to the event so that we can download them. We will also be around to take requests if there's anything specific somebody wants to hear on the night. We're also happy to work with a 'DO NOT PLAY' list if there are any songs you definitely don't want to hear.
We played a corporate party for AirBaltic in Riga (Lativa) which was incredible. We played on a huge stage that had been placed on a beach around a lake which itself was in the heart of an enormous forest. The scenery was beautiful, the crowd were amazing and the whole trip is one that we will never forget. We were lucky enough to be invited back to Riga the following year to play at another corporate show at Palladium Riga which was another beautiful venue and all round great event.
Another amazing place we were fortunate enough to play was Osea Island in Essex. This is a privately owned island that has been hired by many huge, A list celebrities over the years and is a very unique experience. The island is only accessible via the estuary during low tide, after which point, the only way on and off is by boat. We stayed on the island for an evening to play for a London based consultancy firm and it turned about to be one of the liveliest, high energy shows we've ever done.
As a band, we all have slightly different tastes in music which covers a wide array of different genres. This diversity helps keep our repertoire of songs nice and diverse which helps when it comes to writing setlists for any given event as we are confident we cover enough different genres and eras to please any crowd.
One area where we are all definitely aligned is the band Kings of Leon, who we also perform as a tribute act to. Our name, The Four Kicks is actually taken from a song featured on Kings of Leon's second album, Aha Shake Heartbreak, called Four Kicks.
All of us had performed in bands to different levels in our teenage years before we came together in our early twenties. During this time, we have played far too many shows to count. We have played at festivals to crowds of up to 10,000 and still regularly perform at some of the largest tribute band festivals in the country. We were also lucky enough to have done short tours of both Spain and The Netherlands with our Kings of Leon show.
We used to also perform as an originals act but, as we approached our thirties, with a couple of the band members having children, we decided to focus our attention on our wedding/corporate/function offering. Since then, the majority of the work we do is either weddings or corporate events, with us being well experienced in working with a range of different clients to ensure that their event is one to remember.
We absolutely love playing weddings. When playing a wedding, there is always a real emotional connection to the music and the band, with a majority of clients basing most of their evening around our performance. That brings a real pressure to get everything spot on and ensure that everything runs smoothly, pressure that we thrive on. We also love it when we re-work a given song for a first dance and it ends up sounding perfect. For the bride and groom, they will never forget that moment and we love being able to provide that for people.
On the flip side of that, playing huge stages to huge crowds is never not fun and we are lucky enough that we still get to do that each year during festival season. There is a certain buzz that you get from those big shows that can't be achieved elsewhere.
What you see in our promo footage is what you'll get. When shooting our most recent promo video, it was really important to us that clients could hear what we sound like live and what they were going to get when they book us. We didn't want to drown out our sound with endless overdubs and backing tracks which will mean that you're not really hearing a truthful reflection of the band live. We want our clients to feel confident in our ability to perform live to an incredibly high standard and really make their evening special.
We will generally require around 90 minutes to load in, set up all of our equipment and complete a soundcheck. We will always try to work this around the timings for the day but as a general rule, tend to arrive between 5pm-6pm for most weddings that we play.
In terms of sets, we would generally do 2 x 60 minute sets with music playing through our PA system before and in between our sets as well as after if this add on has been included. We are, of course, happy to be flexible with timings and follow the client's lead if they would like.
We are more than happy to play outside and, when the weather is right, it can work amazingly well. As you can imagine, this only works in the right weather conditions and where there is an appropriate space to do so but if that all works then we are more than happy playing outside.
We are happy for clients to have a say in what we play with songs that are on our repertoire list. We will always do what we can to honour any requests received but will always retain ultimate control over the setlist. Having played countless weddings over the years, we have become experienced in reading a room and adjusting our set list accordingly to better suit a given audience. This is why we will always do everything we can to honour any requests but if it is clear that a certain type of song just isn't working with the audience, we may adjust in the moment to help ensure your dancefloor remains full for the whole night. With the number of weddings we have played, we know what works well with the majority of our audiences.
Clients can request for us to learn additional songs outside of our repertoire but this is a chargeable add on as we will need to pay to cover the rehearsal space for us to practice the new song(s).
We are happy to say that we always receive positive feedback on our performances and all-round service. I've included our most recent review (at the time of creating this profile) below;
'We could not recommend The Four Kicks highly enough. During the night the dance floor was packed and we received so many compliments for how good of a band they were. Communication with the band before the event and during the event was second to non. The band performed our first dance song AMAZINGLY, it was everything we could have asked for. Opting for a non traditional first dance (Year 3000 by Busted), the boys managed to adapt the song into a style appropriate for a first dance. It was perfect. They also managed to perform another song for us which was a close second for our first dance song which brought my now Wife to tears. The boys delivered everything and more! Do not hesitate to book this band for your event, you will 100% not be disappointed! Thank you Four Kicks' (Leigh C, Feb 2024)
