The Sonics is a 5 piece function band specializing in 80s and 90s rock and pop. Our band includes drums, keyboard, guitar, bass, and vocals with backing vocals. We work in partnership with Diffusion Productions to provide an all-inclusive and professional event package with lighting, sound, and music for a collection of prices. Our goal is to make your event unforgettable without the stress.
Each member has been trained to a degree level in music and music technology so you can guarantee a high-quality service with exceptional performances to get you moving. And with the addition of Diffusion's world-class sound and lighting systems, your reception, party or dance floor will feel like Wembley Arena. Our packages offer a range of custom options so you can tailor your evening how you like. We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment. We’d also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue.
Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music.
Our best gig so far was at Kingston Village Hall. We performed for a private event and blew the guests away!
We are influenced by all artists we come across. Music is art and entertainment all rolled into one massive moving culture. Check our setlists to see specific artists we enjoy covering.
We are all professionally schooled musicians who have decades of combined playing experience
We love playing festivals, clubs, and weddings! The audience is always happy and dancing.
We normally arrive 2 hours before the performance to set up. We normally perform 2 x 45 minutes or 2 x 60 minute sets. We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best.
We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade, a flat level STAGE and a power supply close to the performance area.
We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to 5 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them.
