In addition to their musical collaborations, for nearly 10 years they've been the monthly resident duo at the world famous jazz venue Concorde Club in Eastleigh. Often asked to provide the entertainment for special occasions to the rich and famous, including the owner's annual wine society party.
Originally intended as the ultimate musical background, their performances have developed to become regularly sold out concerts. While praised for their musical virtuosity, everybody it seems, loves to hear their comedic anecdotes adventures with the famous names.
Sax and harmonica? Nah ... that'll never work. Be assured, you've never heard anything as delicious as this live. Stadium stages, red carpet events, boutique parties, boutique restaurants ... they love them all. Tony & Martin are the real deal!

Minimum performance footprint of 5 x 3 metres. We require 1 x 13 amp socket and 1 parking space.
Yes, we’re completely self contained. We bring our own PA system to all of our gigs as well as a simple lighting rig.
We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right, or easiest place to unload our equipment. We’d also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue.
We can provide background music between sets.
Best gig? Tricky. We've played at some fabulous venues including many Premiership Football clubs, international boat and car shows plus Wembley and The O2 Jazz Club and of course the famous Concorde Jazz Club at Eastleigh, where we've become the resident duo. But I think, being honest, our favourite gig was being asked to reopen our hometown's top live venue, Southampton's 1865 venue, after Lockdown. We are very proud of that.
Another tricky one. But Stevie Wonder, Sonny Terry, Larry Adler and Lee Oskar for harmonica... with Paul Desmond, David Sanborn, Wayne Shorter and of course the one and only Michael Brecker for the sax. Best song? Mmm.. . impossible. But 3 we love are Say A Little Prayer, Masquerade and Smile. But ask us another day and we'll pick 50 different ones. Haha...
We're both experienced session and touring artists. We've been mates and played together and with other people since we were teenagers. Now we pretty much just play together. It's as much fun as we've ever had. Even if it's come as a bit of a shock after all these years just how popular just sax & harmonica without vocals is. In fact, we've never been so popular since Mart stopped singing! Ah well, live and learn ... cough.
Any. Big or small. We just love playing. Background music is fab, because we can just play with no pressure. But concerts are great fun because we love reacting with an audience and making them laugh and do that zombie mouth open stare thing. Our favourite quote ever was from the landlord at a small village in Hampshire, "You guys were so good, the village drunk went home sober!" We just love playing.
2 hours or 90 minutes. We can do it in an hour, butt we prefer the safety of a longer setup.
Generally we play 2 x 45 minute sets. We can stretch to 2 x 1 hour sets. But any longer and the lips can start to go. Never a pretty site!
Yep. Just make sure our equipment can't get wet or damaged by people walking by or through it. We prefer shade, but we'll try and be flexible. Nice to have a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area though.
We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to 5 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them. Or we can even hand out our repertoire on sheets for them to pick tunes as we go. Juke Box gig style. People love it to be fair. Scary though! Haha...
It's awkward to write this down, but our audiences are most commonly amazed. Here's a typical comment. It's from another pro musician Beau Dinnage who's played and worked with many top stars including The Drifters ... "Unbelievable! You would probably think a Sax and Harmonica wouldn’t work, believe me, it’s like a very clever brass section, they are outstanding!
