Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

While this quartet is newly formed, each of our members has performed extensively at top venues across the UK. Individually, we’ve played at renowned jazz clubs, prestigious concert halls, luxury wedding venues, and high-profile corporate events. Collectively, we bring years of experience from gigs that span intimate jazz lounges to festival stages. Some of our favourite venues we’ve performed at include Ronnie Scott's, West End Musicals, and Spice of Life Soho.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

As a group, we’re influenced by a mix of jazz legends, soul icons, and modern R&B artists. Some of our biggest inspirations include Grover Washington Jr., George Benson, Stevie Wonder, D’Angelo, and Herbie Hancock. Individually, each of us brings different influences, making our sound both fresh and rooted in timeless grooves. Favourite artists and “greatest song of all time” will vary between us, but classics like What’s Going On by Marvin Gaye and Just the Two of Us by Bill Withers always make the list!

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

Each of us has built a career as a professional musician, with experience ranging from solo performances to session work, function bands, and jazz ensembles. We’ve performed at weddings, corporate events, jazz nights, and private parties. Our journeys started in different ways—some through music conservatoires, others through gigging in grassroots venues and collaborating with other musicians. Now, we’ve come together to form this quartet, bringing our combined expertise into a fresh and exciting new project.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

We love playing events where the music enhances the atmosphere—whether it’s an intimate jazz night, a stylish wedding reception, or a sophisticated corporate function. Our sound is perfect for creating a relaxed yet engaging vibe, where people can either sit back and enjoy or let the music set the tone for a lively evening. There’s something special about performing in venues that appreciate live music, whether it’s a cosy jazz bar or a stunning event space.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We normally arrive 2 hours before the performance to set up. We normally perform 2 x 45-minute or 2 x 60-minute sets. We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best.

Are you happy to perform outside?

We are happy to play outside but do require cover from rain to avoid damage to equipment.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually ask for 1 month's notice for this. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Individually, we’ve received praise for our musicianship, professionalism, and ability to create the perfect atmosphere for any event. Clients often describe our performances as sophisticated, soulful, and effortlessly engaging, with a balance of smooth background jazz and groove-driven lounge music. Whether it’s setting a relaxed tone for a drinks reception or providing an upbeat yet refined soundtrack for an evening event, we’re known for delivering high-quality live music with a polished and dynamic sound.

Do you take requests?

Yes! We have a carefully curated setlist of jazz, soul, and R&B classics, but we’re happy to accommodate specific requests if arranged in advance. If you have a special song in mind, let us know, and we’ll do our best to include it in our performance.
