The Steel Pan Agency was formed by Shareen Gray in 2010, driven by her lifelong passion and dedication to steel pan music. Shareen's musical journey began at age 12, inspired by the vibrant rhythms of the steel pan. With over three decades of experience, including notable participation in events like the Notting Hill Carnival and Panorama, she decided to monetise her passion following advice during her university studies in Business. Her vision extended beyond performance to advocacy for inclusivity, working with people of all ages, especially those with special needs and disabilities. This passion led to the establishment of the Steel Pan Trust in 2013, aiming to foster community engagement and transformative music experiences. The Steel Pan Agency, with a roster of over 60 skilled musicians, specialises in delivering exceptional music sessions for all levels, combining talent and dedication to create unforgettable performances and experiences.
We arrive 1 hour to 30 minutes before performances, setting up in 10-15 minutes. Performances include a 90-minute set or two 45-minute sets within 3 hours; longer durations will incur higher prices.
Yes, the Steel Pan Agency is happy to perform outside. However, in the event of bad weather, we require a gazebo, usually 3x3 meters or smaller, to ensure the performance can proceed comfortably and safely. This provision helps protect the musicians and their instruments from the elements.
