About / Biography

Praised for her "beautiful storytelling" and "touching performances", mezzo-soprano Sophie has entered the classical music industry with thousands of loyal listeners and a line of successful performances. She has performed as a soloist in prestigious UK concert venues including Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall, Bridgewater Hall and Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. Sophie is currently charming audiences as a soloist with the London Concertante Orchestra on their West End Musicals UK and Ireland Tour.

Sophie has recorded for various solo and ensemble projects at renowned studios such as Abbey Road Studios and Parr Street Recording Studios. Sophie is available for theatre, concert, oratorio, corporate, recording, weddings and other events both nationally and internationally.

Sophie also works alongside classical guitarist Ravi Nathwani as Duo Cantelina. Praised as "such an amazing talent" by the consul of Spain and performing new arrangements for voice and classical guitar, this dynamic duo will bring something unique to your next event.

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I am very self contained and can either work from a wireless amplifier or require just one plug socket.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

I can bring my own PA system for any solo or duo events. I do not provide a lighting rig (not usually necessary!)

What information do you require about a venue?

Address and any directions that will help find the venue, site contact information, time that access is available to the venue.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, I’m happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between my sets. I’m happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music.

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

One of my favourite performances as a soloist was at the Royal Festival Hall in London - the crowd were fantastic!

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

I’d say some of my greatest influences are Judy Garland, Doris Day and also classical singers such as Maria Callas.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I’ve been performing at concerts and events since the very young age of seven and in the last five years my performances have taken me to venues all around the world performing classical, classical crossover and songs from the shows!

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I love to perform at all sorted of events from theatre shows to wedding ceremonies - it’s lovely to see how music makes people happy!

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I normally arrive an hour before the performance to set up/sound check before either a ceremony or reception/corporate event.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes I am happy to perform outside as long as there is a shaded on hot days.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I am happy to discuss specific requested songs to find the right pieces for my clients.
