Solid Steel prides itself on being the most modern and versatile professional steel band in the UK. We offer various booking packages that include different band sizes and options for all-instrumental performances or those that include both male and female vocals.

A staging area of 1m x 1m per musician is a minimum requirement in terms of space.
Cover is required to guarantee against weather interruptions of outside performances.
Shade is also required on bright days as direct sunlight affects the tuning of our all-steel instruments. We're happy to choose our own naturally shaded areas at a venue, but if a client wants us to play in a particular outside staging area and it's unshaded- we will need parasols or a gazebo.
For health and safety reasons and for us to comply with the terms of our own Public Liability insurance which we (and all bands!) are required to have at all public venues, cover is required for all our electrical equipment if we're required to play outside.
Mostly we perform with no amplification at all and we don't provide any lighting.
If you require amplification for our vocals and background recorded music in our breaks, we will carry our own battery powered PA equipment.
We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment.
Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music.
Our very best gigs have been done for Royalty and celebrities and we can't disclose the details having signed non-disclosure agreements (NDAs)!

I started playing as a teen with my father's band some years ago.
We love playing at all sorts of events but those where the audience are celebrating the great special occasions in people's lives like weddings and birthdays are our favourites!
Our set-up time is 10 minutes in our all-acoustic, 'unplugged' format, so our arrival time is normally 30 minutes latest before our first performance time.
We will always arrive 1 hour before performance time if we're required to bring any electrical equipment for amplified performances.
Yes, but please factor in the unpredictability of UK weather and provide a wet weather contingency plan for our performance. :)
We have extensive repertoire lists from which clients can identify those songs they would prefer to hear the most and those they'd prefer not to hear at all!
