Shama, a classy and sophisticated Indian vocalist (as featured in the Hollywood Blockbuster, Taken 3), has been singing since childhood. Shama had her first band at the age of 9 and performed regularly on Kenyan Television. Having received her vocal training from Smt. Swati Natekar and Smt. Krishna Chakraborty, Shama went onto developing her own voice and style to suit the music she performs.
Shama became a brand name in her own right in 1994 as she set out with the very popular Shama and Friends band, wowing audiences in South America, Caribbean, West Africa, Dubai, Europe and nationally in UK over the next several years. She has performed alongside artistes from the Bollywood music industry like Anup Jalota, Sukhwinder Singh, Nitin Mukesh, Mangal Singh to name a few…
In 2009, Shama came together with Hinal Pattani to form The 515 Crew, a young and dynamic band which entered its first year as a band, although all the individual members had a collective experience of several years between them. The band brings the flavour of Indian bollywood music to the world fusion stage through unique, exciting and colourful performances! Performances include a wide range of old classics and new Bollywood hits, selected English songs.
The core band line up is Shama, 2 male singers, 5 musicians (keyboards, drums, lead guitar, bass guitar & indian percussions) and sound/engineer. Lighting can be provided to suit most venues. Extra musicians, dancers and dhol players can be added to the line-up upon request.

We provide a sound system to cover up to a capacity of 500 people. Bigger venues will require add-ons.

We performed for Diwali celebrations four years in a row at Trafalgar Square to an audience of 30,000 people.
Our influences range across several genres/artistes from mainstream pop singers, to bollywood greats to bhangra artistes. We are inspired by the different styles of singing/performance offered by each.
I have run 2 successful Bollywood bands for 15 years each, one after the other. The current band has just completed it's 15th year in 2024. We have performed in UK and abroad.
We love playing at all sorts of events as each offers a differen experience for both audience and us. Our favourite has to be gigs where the audience gets up to dance. We love the exchange of energy between the band and the audience.
Bollywood classics, new songs, dance medleys, selected English, Bhangra and some Swahili songs too!

We perform all over the UK and internationally.
We perform up to 3 hours stage time split into smaller sets. This does not include breaks. It’s purely performance time.
We can put together bespoke packages for your events according to your entertainment requirement. We are also happy to add extra musicians/acts to the whole package.

Yes we can take the pressure off you when you book the band and we can arrange for lighting/screens/backdrops etc at an extra fee.
Absolutely! In fact, having a theme makes an event even more unique. We can easily do 60s/70s/80s/90s/Noughties, East African themes etc with appropriate playlists. We are always open to suggestions from clients for theme nights.
A minimum stage space of 20 x 12 feet is required to fit the band/instruments.
We require 3 hours set up/soundcheck time
Half hour to freshen up and change
We do up to 3 hours performances which can be split into 2 or 3 sets
We can arrange for stage lighting/screens/backdrop upon request.
We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.
We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to 5 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them

Yes we do and we often liaise with venues to make sure all safety paperwork is provided prior to performance.
As we tailor-make song lists for each show individually, it is advisable to send us your requests as early as you can, once the booking is confirmed. That way, we can try and accommodate as many songs as possible into the final list.
