About / Biography

Sax Janet Is a professional saxophonist, performing all over the UK at festivals, indoor and outdoor corporate, public and private events and venues, as well as a recording artist doing studio sessions and live backing for a number of artists and bands.

Janet plays an eclectic mix of music performs all types of genres of music, including easy-listening background music, jazz, funk soul, reggae, afrobeat, gospel, pop and Ibiza-style, .

Janet has a natural style and feel for music.

Janet's style is beautifully suited to drinks receptions, day wedding events, dinner parties, hotel lobbies, corporate functions, as well as getting the party started.

I am also available for funerals and memorial events.

Janet has a large repertoire and is able to tailor her programmes to your individual event.

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

Please provide:
Parking Space for 1 car
A suitable space to perform

PA: Janet comes with a single L1 Pro8 Portable Line Array speaker. This is suitable for small to medium spaces or up to 100 Guests.
For a larger venue or bigger sound a full PA system will need to be provided by the client.

If Janet is providing her PA she will need :
-Access to a nearby mains power supply
-A table 1m x 1m

If Janet is using your PA system she will bring her Isolo prime cordless saxophone microphone, with receiver and effects unit.
Janet will require an
-XLR port to connect her mic receiver to your PA system.
- input for her tracks on IOS device, CD or USB
- a floor monitor dedicated to her and configured at sound check.
- a vocal mic and mic stand for introducing songs.
- Full Sound check


Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes I am completely self contained. I have my own PA system available for all gigs. I do not, however provide lighting.


Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, I an happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between sets. I an happy to choose the music myself or let the client choose the music."

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

Sax Janet usually arrives an hour early to set up and sound check.
An earlier arrival can be booked for an additional fee of £50.


Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes I am happy to perform outside in fine, dry weather. I would request shade on a sunny day, and a shelter if there is any prospect of rain on the day. I would not be able to perform outside in the rain.


Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I generally perform from a set repertoire. The client can pick a set list from my repertoire, or I can select songs from my repertoire suitable for your event.
I am happy to learn a special song for your event providing there is a 1 month lead time.
I can consider learning up to 4 additional songs if there is a 6 month lead time.
