About / Biography

Ruth’s first passion in life was and still is music. Her interest for music started at a very early age, her parents influence of Motown, Jazz, Ska, Folk, Rock, Punk as well as other genres enabled Ruth to soon become very versatile in her song choices.

Ruth knew that singing would be her career one day and she has worked very hard to make this dream become a reality.

After successfully graduating from the London School of Musical Theatre, Ruth went on to perform in many theatre productions before breaking into the West End to land a leading role as Mimi in Rent.

Working alongside many stars such as Kylie Minogue, Denise Van Outen and Jessie Wallace, Ruth has also appeared in numerous Music Videos and performed as a backing singer for many well-known artists.

In early 2016 Dubious Roots were formed, a ska, reggae, dub band and Ruth is one of the lead vocalists. Their gigs have taken them across the country and their biggest gig to date was headlining at Concorde 2, Brighton!

Ruth performs as a solo artist nationally and internationally at corporate events, weddings, hotels, restaurants and bars singing original songs and covers. With a huge repertoire of over 500 songs Ruth covers a wide variety of music from the 1930's right through to the present day.
