We found love
Ideally a stage, all equipment is provided.
We bring our own PA system. We do not have lighting as we rely on the venue for lighting.
We need to know the directions to the venue and the best place to unload equipment. It’s also ideal if we know who the point of contact is on the day.
Yes, we are happy to play music from Spotify. We let the client decide what they would like to have.
The best gig we ever played at was at a phera ceremony in Manchester. We loved how the priest conducted the ceremony and how we played such a pivotal role for our client. We walked the client through the songs during key moments of the ceremony and ended by playing a few Sean Paul beats. At the end, we received a standing ovation from the guests as well as a sheer fascination of our instruments.
Other gigs we have really enjoyed have been in France, where we asked to collaborate with a jazz artist.
Sean Paul
Snoop Dog
Coldplay
Micheal Jackson
Bruno Mars
Elvis Presley
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
We absolutely love playing their songs in our sets. We also incorporate a lot of Arjit Singh, Lata Jee, Rafi and Sonu Nigam into our playing. Diljit Dosanjh is also a huge influence for us as well.
As we are very routed and trained in Indian classical music - we are very heavily influenced by the likes of Ustad Vilayat Khan, Pandit Ram Narayan, Pandit Nikhil Banerjee and, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan.
We started back in 2015 for a friends reception and have not looked back since. Our performances have ranged from weddings, sold out concerts, and working with Great British Institutions such as the English Heritage.
We love playing for an appreciative audience and clientele no matter the occasion.
We are guided by you as our client. We can play solely Indian, but we have been known to play English songs as well.
Set up - minimum 30 minutes / 1 hour to set up.
Pack down - 15 minutes.
Performance times vary. It can range for a 1 hour set. The longest we have ever played was 6 hours. We normally suggest if it is a drinks reception that upto 2 hours is ideal. If it is the pheras ceremony, 3 hours would be the maximum.
We are more than happy to play outside as long as we have access to the mains, or unless it has been clarified that we are playing acoustically.
Clients have a say in what we play. We normally give them a set list that we have learnt. We take a maximum of 5 songs. In one instance we took 10 songs (but we also had a bigger team of sitar, sarangi, bansuri and tabla). We also ask that all specific songs are give to us 3 months in advance of the big day; so that we have the time to practise.
Previous customers would describe us as knowing how to read the audience and knowing how to set the mood. This can range from a mellow relaxed mood, to a mood that requires people to get read for a party.
