Richie B brings his energetic live shows! He has a 5 piece drum kit played with your feet whilst standing up and performing other instruments, such as acoustic guitar, mandolin and harmonica and singing. A true 21st-century one-man band!
Richie B has been gigging since age 14 playing drums but switched to guitar in 2014 after a bout of cancer and following his dreams of performing music full time. In the last 10 years, Richie B has made a name for himself on the Dorset scene where he lived during that time and now lives in Milton Keynes.
During the last 10 years of performing solo and duo gigs on the South Coast, Richie B felt his shows needed more rhythm. Richie B has also recorded with Kurt Custer (drumming fame with Lynyrd Skynyrd and Steve Earle) in Nashville and appeared on several radio shows and TV.
Performing his unique twist on Americana, Rock, Country, Blues and Irish, one thing you are always guaranteed with Richie B is a foot-stomping, upbeat and energetic show!

Flat surface to set up a solo act with a table close by, one 13 amp socket and 1 parking space.
I offer my own PA system and lighting. I am completely self contained.
Easy temporary parking to unload or to park my car safely and if there are stairs to transport equipment inside the venue.
Spotify/iTunes playlists can easily be played through my PA system but I am not a DJ. I am happy to put on whatever genre of music is requested.
The best gig I have ever played was when the band I drummed in at the time supported Whitesnake at Cambell Park in Milton Keynes which was an honour. The best venue I have ever played in was the BIC at Bournemouth.
I'm very influenced by Americana style acts. Steve Earle is right at the top for me and I learned how to play guitar drums and write songs by listening to the album Copperhead Road alone. I also love Bruce Springsteen and think he is one of the all time legends. My favourite song of all time is probably Copperhead Road as i never fail to perform it at my gigs and I often get asked to play it. I am close friends with the drummer from this album so I hold it dearly in my heart.
I started out gigging aged 14 on drums and passed my GSCE practical music exam by invited my music teacher to a gig and she gave me a A! Since the age of 40, I did a Dave Grohl and switched from drums to guitar and vocals and have been doing that as my full time job for 11 years. I invented a foot drum kit to complete the rhythms organically within my solo performances giving a true 21st century one man band vibe!
I love performing at parties, bars/pubs and officers messes
I always arrive 1 hours prior to the gig to set up and sound check. I also offer a full 2 hours show without a break as I like to give value for money and feel taking a 30 minute break disrupts the energy of the gig and potentially lose engagement. Unless the venue specifically requests a break, I will perform straight through.
Yes I often do perform outside in spring and summer. All i ask is the performing area is flat for me to set up my foot drums.
I usually just get on and play my own set but if whoever books me has a specific song in mind they would like me to play (and fits into my vocal range and genre), I am happy to learn the song.
I am often described as high energy and a multi-tasking freak of nature! I get many comments about the foot drums and the overall full sound I create by playing multiple instruments at once.
