Richard studied music at the Royal Conservatoire in Birmingham and graduated with a B.A. (Hons) in Music with violin as his first study and piano as his second study.
With over twenty years experience as a wedding musician, Richard is familiar with how important the ambience, feel and natural flow of the day is. He understands how vital it is to making your day a successful and memorable occasion. Live music plays a vital role in achieving this. Perhaps you want the elegance of Pachelbels ‘Canon in D’ as you gracefully walk down the aisle, your favourite Ed Sheeran song while you sign the register or the grand ‘La Rejouissance’ by Handel as you proudly make your way out after the ceremony. Whatever it is that you want, Richard will make every effort to arrange it and rehearse it ready for your big day.
Richard’s experience, built up over twenty years of performing live, ensures that he provides a friendly, professional and bespoke service. His repertoire is both wide and varied and crosses the whole musical spectrum. If your favourite piece of music or song isn't in Richard's repertoire then he will write a special personal arrangement just for you and your guests at no extra cost.
Richard can play with or without backing music, on a traditional acoustic violin or his Yamaha electric violin - with or without amplification, giving you a variety of options to fit your musical tastes. For example - He might play unaccompanied classical violin in the church where the acoustics are often so beautiful. This might be followed by a set on the electric violin playing some more upbeat modern pop and rock songs while you and your guests enjoy a drink and a chat before the wedding breakfast.
Richard will help guide you through the music so that you can create a wonderful atmosphere for your special occasion.

set up time is about 30 minutes.
I would traditionally prepare 2 x 45 minutes sets which would be a mixture of classical favourites through to pop and rock classics and jazz and film themes.
