About / Biography

"JUST BOOK THIS GUY!!!"
"The very first Music of the Night event was headlined by this versatile classically trained Opera singer at Sewerby Hall and Gardens.
Set in a most enchanting of locations, hundreds of visitors of all ages enjoyed a breathtaking evening performance of popular Opera classics.
Even the onset of the rain towards the end of the concert failed to dampen the crowds’ spirit as Richard’s magnificent voice echoed across Bridlington Bay.
A night to be remembered by all."
Myles Bacon, East Riding Council

"Richard came to sing at my fathers 70th birthday celebrations on a narrowboat. He entertained us throughout the afternoon not only with his great repertoire but also his affable and personable nature entertaining every guest. My father was very happy and each guest praised Richard's appearance. What made the day more remarkable was the fact that I called Richard at 9am on Sunday morning and he agreed to sing even though the barge departed at 1pm, after the singer we had booked cancelled at 8.45am! Richard had appeared in London the previous night and had a late night. I will highly recommend Richard to anybody!"

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

I/We've done loads of excellent gigs - Glastonbury, Rugby Stadiums, Rhine River Cruises, Operas etc..... but also some of the best gigs in terms of buzz and atmosphere have been many of the smaller bookings as you feel like you know everyone by the end.
Some of the best venues include Birmingham Symphony Hall, Glastonbury Festival, Chequers (needed MI5 clearance for that), Sewerby Hall Prom Event, Hurlingham Club, Opera Holland Park. Loads more.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Been influenced by many artists ranging from Pavarotti to Rock bands to Sinatra etc....

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

Used to play guiitar in an originals rock band. Stumbled across a Placido Domingo album in a record store and started having lessons. First Pro gigs were with a friend playing piano in Italian restuarants which was an immediate success. Gresw from there.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

Obviously it's nice to play at prestigious venues, but really any Event where the atmosphere is good and people appreciate me - which many smaller venues have been.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

between 30-60 minutes setup time depending on requirements.
Performances last anything up to two hours, typically 2 x 55 mins. A third set can be catered for totalling 3 hours' music.
Also happy to DJ in between sets.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes. Have a gazebo and leisure battery, so in theory could perform self contained on Dartmoor!
